Bible-inspired drama workshops

Family Life’s Youtheatre program is holding a drama workshop for kids ages 8-15 at Youngsville Free Methodist from July 9-13.

With the help of trained drama instructors, students will explore their artistic talents in acting, singing and dancing, learn important Bible lessons, and make great friends in an encouraging environment.

This summer, students will perform “Danny & The Shacks” – a musical production for friends and family held on the last day of the workshop. Admission is free.

The show recounts the adventures of the prophet Daniel — ‘Danny’ as he’s called in this 21st century version of the story. Danny and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, are in a band, “Danny & the Shacks.” They embark on a roller-coaster-thrill-ride of experiences as they encounter King Neb, his golden statue, some crazy Babylonians, the fiery furnace, and of course, the infamous lion’s den.

Youngsville Free Methodist is located at 179 Davis Street in Youngsville. Sessions are every morning of the workshop week, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Registration is $99/student and $85 for each additional sibling. Call 1-800-927-9083 or visit www.fln.org/events to register. A limit of 60 students, ages 8-15, are accepted for the workshop on a first-come, first-served basis at each location.
