County to take part in weather siren tests today
The sirens this morning are not heralds of severe weather.
Normally, a siren from a fire department — or from the center of downtown Warren — whose wail goes up and stays up is a weather warning to urge people to seek immediate shelter. This time, it’s just a test.
Warren County is participating in the statewide weather exercise today. Part of that participation is testing the weather sirens throughout the county.
County officials will note any sirens that do not go off and follow up with any needed repairs.
