Children’s choir
Warren Children’s Choir will rehearse Mondays at 4:30 p.m. at the Struthers Library Theatre rehearsal room. Any child first through sixth grade is welcome to come and sing. Suggested monthly donation is $40. Scholarships are available. All children who want to sing are welcome regardless of ability to pay. The choir uses Kodaly Solfege pitch training, Kodaly folk songs and games and Orff instruments. The director is Deena Winters. For information or to sign up please go to www.wcchoir.com
Fall festival
The 25th Kinzua Bridge State Park ‘Fall Festival’ will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, rain or shine. The festival is organized by the Kinzua Bridge Foundation, Inc., a group of volunteers dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Kinzua Bridge and State Park. A total of 92 sites filled with Art/Craft Vendors will be set up in the wooded picnic area and the lawn located across from the Visitors Center near the picnic pavilion and playground. There will be a variety of food and arts/crafts vendors in the paved parking lot, as well as live musical performances daily at the stage area. Events on Saturday begin at noon with opening ceremonies, followed by continuous music by local and regional musicians. Horse and pony cart rides will be available for children and ax throwing opportunities will be available. Admission to the event is free.
PennDOT maintenance
The following maintenance works is set for the week of Sept. 16 on roadways maintained by PennDOT in Warren County: Spray patching on US 6 in Mead Twp., Priest Hollow Rd. and Cable Hollow Rd. in Pine Grove Twp., Old Rt. 77 and Oil Creek Rd. in Spring Creek Twp. and Oil Creek Rd. and Sundback Rd in Eldred Twp; Ditch cleaning on Rt. 957 in Freehold Twp. and Columbus Twp.; Crack sealing on Jackson Run Rd. in Famington Twp. and Sugar Grove Twp. and shoulder cutting on US 6 in Conewango Twp.
