Submission window open for WCCD photo contest
The deadline for submissions for the Warren County Conservation District’s fifth annual photo contest is quickly approaching.
The window for applications will close on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.
“Only two photos can be entered in each category per entrant and photos must be taken in Warren County,” Sherry Moore, conservation program assistant, said. “On the back of the photo, please write your name, address, phone number, place where photo was taken and category.”
Categories include fire, bridges, insects and fields.
Photos should be submitted 8×10 with no frames and brought to the WCCD office, 4000 Conewango Ave. There’s a cost of $2 to enter a photo.
There will then be a public participation piece to follow.
“The public is invited to come to the WCCD office between September 18 and September 30 to vote for their favorite photo in each category for the People’s Choice award,” Moore said.
Photos will also be judged by members of the Warren Camera Club. Winners will be announced on Oct. 7.
Prizes are provided by Allegheny Outfitters and include $10 gift cards for first prize and People’s Choice winners in each category. A $50 gift card will also be awarded to the overall “Best of Show.”
