Bridge tournament

A total of 36 bridge players gathered on Sunday at the Conewango Valley Country Club for luncheon and a tournament in memory of Lana Creal, who passed away in September. Creal was a superb player who attained the rank of Ruby Grand Master in the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). The event was sanctioned by Unit 129 of the ACBL, for which Lana volunteered as a Board Member. Players came from Warren, Jamestown, Chautauqua and Bradford. Memories of Lana’s excellent play, her kindness and sportsmanship were shared. The afternoon was hosted by Mary Conarro who shared and enjoyed many games with Lana. The winners were Bill Tordella and Chick Bello in first place, Shelley Dahlie and Pat Fincher in second and Anne and Tyn Smith in third. Additionally, a donation to the ACBL bridge scholarship program was made in Lana’s name by the Monday night duplicate bridge game at the Warren YMCA where she is missed.
