Sugar Grove Ruff Riders host first meeting
The Sugar Grove Ruff Riders 4-H Horse Club held their first meeting recently.
New members were welcomed and everyone introduced themselves, sharing how many years they have been in 4-H, what discipline they ride, and their horse’s name.
The agenda and club expectations/requirements were handed out and reviewed. New officers were elected: President – Zoe Atkins, Vice President – Jordyn Morrison, Secretary – Arlene Boisvert, Treasurer – Amanda Sirianni, News Reporter – Esther Boisvert, and Social Chair – Riley Taylor. Fundraiser forms were handed out.
Members enjoyed a snack, then practiced basic leading skills, showmanship, and in-hand trail obstacles utilizing two miniature horses, a pony, and a horse. Club members who will be competing in the PA State 4-H Horse Show in Harrisburg from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27 had a brief meeting with Nokomis Stanton to go over rules and expectations, practice and show schedules, stall decorations, stall posters, clothing orders and any other questions or concerns.
