Forest Offices Closed to Observe Veterans Day
The USDA Forest Service announced that the Allegheny National Forest offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the Veterans Day federal holiday.

Society to meet Monday
The Warren County Genealogical Society will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. in the dining room of First Lutheran Church. The topic for the evening will be “Using Timelines to Prevent Research Mistakes and Bust Through Brick Walls.” Members and guests will also have an opportunity to seek research assistance and share success stories with the group. Donna and Ed Ball will provide refreshments. The society welcomes anyone interested in family history and research. Call 723-8026 for additional information.
Allegheny Outdoor Club to hike
Sunday
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will meet at 1 p.m. at Musante Street, Warren, or 1:15 p.m. at the Game Lands 29 parking lot near the Microwave Tower off Route 337. The group will hike 4 to 5 miles on the game lands with some hills. Greg Burkett will be the leader for this event.

Monday evening at the YMCA, Laurie Curren and Richard Woodruff were first with Shelley Dahlie and Pat Fincher in second. At the Allegheny Community Center on Tuesday, Connie Michell and Connie Lucia were first and second. Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club, Marcy O’Brien came in first and Connie Michell was second.
