Operation Christmas Child begins Nov. 18
Pleasant Community Church in Warren is again welcoming Warren County families, churches and groups to drop off their gift-filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, during National Collection Week, from Nov. 18 to 25.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse. Its mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
There are 10 drop-off locations open in Erie, Crawford and Warren counties during National Collection Week. To find the one nearest you search via zip code at https://samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/drop-off-locations.
These simple gifts are sent outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease. Since 1993, more than 220 million children in over 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.
