Red Kettle Kickoff includes auction, music

The community is invited to a Christmas season celebration at The Salvation Army in Warren starting this morning.

The eighth annual Red Kettle Kickoff will feature cocoa, cookies, all for a good cause. Local musician Alyssa Wismar will play guitar and sing Christmas classics, followed by a performance from Molly Dies’ Dance Unlimited. A variety of items will also be available for auction in person and online.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army Warren Worship and Service Center at 311 Beech St.

The Salvation Army’s goal is to raise $70,000 locally this season. Red Kettle donations ensure The Salvation Army can continue critical feeding programs, rent and utility assistance, seasonal assistance as well as youth empowerment and spiritual programs for families and individuals in Warren and surrounding areas.

Donations to the Red Kettle Campaign can be made in person at a Red Kettle location or virtually by visiting, https://salarmy.us/WarrenKettle. Donations can also be made by texting the word “Kettle” to 31333. Donors can then reply with their ZIP code to ensure each donation goes directly back into the community where they reside.

Starting at $2.99/week.
