Warren Children’s Choir to perform

The Warren Children’s Choir has two upcoming performances.
The choir will sing Saturday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. to open up Warren’s Interactive Festival on Second Avenue by the deer fountain. The choir will then give a spring concert at 11 a.m. May 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive. The children will sing in three part harmony with selections including folk and classical selections from around the world along with the pop song “1 True Love”. Some highlights are songs “Hong Cai Mei Mei, Rainbow Sister” in Mandarin Chinese, “River in Judea”, Native Canadian song “Land of the Silver Birch,” Sea Shanty “Bully Boys,” “Galop” in Solfege and Carl Orff’s suite “Music for Children.”
Soloists are Reagan McClellan, Lorelei Marcy, Laura Fanelli, Meredith Kuntz, Azlynn Potter, Lydia Card and Alice Gaskin. At the piano will be Joanna Nordland, Allie Bussoletti, Meredith Kuntz and Julia Scutella. Cameron Bussoletti will be joining on guitar. The choir is directed by Deena Winters and Olena Furman. Choir assistants are Claire Fanelli, Meredith Kuntz and Azlynn Potter. Choir president is Evan Gaskin.
“The children are singing their hearts out,” Winters said. “The kids are doing an incredible job with harmony and creating magical music.”
