Warren

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables arrested Jared L. Hultberg, 25, Jamestown, N.Y., on an arrest warrant on April 28 at 9 a.m. issued by District Justice Arthur Zerbe for harassment with physical contact. Constables said Hultberg was taken before Zerbe and remanded to the Warren County Jail.

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables arrested John R. Blauser, 58, Port Allegany, Pa., on April 28 at 11 a.m. on an arrest warrant issued by District Justice Arthur Zerbe for harassment physical contact. Constables said Blauser was taken before Zerbe and remanded to the Warren County Jail.

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables arrested Janessa D. Shepherd, 36, Warren, on April 28 at 2 p.m. issued by District Justice Arthur Zerbe for operating a vehicle without insurance and registration suspended and failure to appear. Shepherd was taken before Zerbe and released pending further court action.

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables arrested Julia E. Madigan, 22, Warren, on a bench warrant on April 28 at 12:30 p.m. issued by District Justice Glenn Carlson for operating a vehicle while under suspension and operating a vehicle without a valid state inspection. Madigan was taken before Carlson and released pending further court actions.

Conewango Twp.

Burglary. Conewango Township police reported that on April 26 at 3 a.m. Paul David Ploss, 419 Water St., Warren, entered the Jackson Run Road residence of Shiloh Duffy without consent and threatened an occupant in the residence. Police said Ploss then left the residence and entered the garage, where he took a vacuum cleaner and smashed it in the driveway. Ploss then tore a shrub out of the flower bed in front of the residence and threw it on the ground. Police said Ploss then fled the scene and afterwards proceeded to send numerous lewd, lascivious and threatening text messages to Duffy’s phone. Police said they subsequently charged Ploss with two count of felony burglary, two counts of terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking, two counts of harassment and criminal mischief. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, police said.

Glade Twp.

DUI. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on April 15 at 3:40 a.m. on Jackson Avenue. According to police, Bradley James McCaslin, 25, Warren, was traveling south on Jackson Avenue, south of Hohman Road when his vehicle approached a left-hand curve and exited the roadway onto the westbound shoulder. The vehicle continued to travel in a southern direction on the shoulder for approximately 75 feet before failing to properly negotiate the curve causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway approximately 14 feet before striking a ditch and coming to rest. Police said that during interaction with McCaslin it was determined that he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. Police said charges of driving under the influence, drug paraphernalia and multiple summary traffic violations were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer.

Mead Twp.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that on April 26 at 1:56 a.m. Richard Peter Macias, 50, Clarendon, was located at Route 6 and Dutchman Road while police were investigating another incident Macias was involved in. Police said Macias was found to be in control of a vehicle and subsequently arrested for DUI, drug charges and various traffic violations through District Justice Laura Bauer.

Sugar Grove

Twp.

Found property. Warren-based state police reported that a BMX bicycle was found in a wooded area behind a residence on Mathews Run Road on April 29 at 9:53 a.m. Anyone with information or wishing to claim the bicycle should contact state police with a description.

Clarendon

Simple assault. Warren-based state police reported that on April 26 at 1:43 a.m. at a known drinking establishment a known 44-year-old female, Clarendon, and Richard Peter Macias, 50, Clarendon, became involved in an argument. Police said the argument progressed into a physical confrontation when Macias hit the victim, causing bodily injury. Police said Macias was placed in the Warren County Jail.

Youngsville

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that on April 28 at 11:53 p.m. an unknown male suspect in his late teens or early twenties, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and backpack, entered an unlocked and open garage on Brickyard Lane. Police said the suspect fled upon being confronted by a known 26-year-old male victim, Youngsville.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police were dispatched to Walmart for a report of retail theft on April 27 at 5 p.m. Police said Cheyenne Kimes, 19, was cited for retail theft after leaving Walmart with $9.97 worth of unpaid merchandise.

Glade Twp.

ID theft. Warren-based state police reported that someone used the name of a Warren woman to file an income tax return with the Internal Revenue Service.

Spring Creek

Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that sometime between April 13 and April 18 someone forced entry into a bedroom window of a camp on Gleason Hollow Road belonging to Jon Mark Zaczyk while the victim was away. Police said there was damage to the window frame and locking mechanism and that several items from the camp, including two TVs, a DVD player and $25 in gold dollar coins were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Youngsville

Possession. Youngsville Borough police report that a 15-year-old male, Youngsville, is being charged with conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, as well as other criminal charges, after further investigation of the April 17 drug arrest and seizure. Police said charges are being filed through the Warren County Juvenile Probation Department.

Crawford County

Arrest. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office report that David E. Metz, Titusville, was taken into custody on an outstanding bench warrant from Feb. 17, for failure to appear. He had failed to appear for Fines and Costs Court from a driving with a blood alcohol content of .02 or greater while his license was suspended, and he was placed in the Warren County Jail. Fines and costs totaled $2,093.98.

Youngsville.

Possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia. Youngsville Borough police report that Caitlin Hardy, 21, Youngsville, was charged after police seized a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana smoking pipe from his vehicle during a routine traffic stop on April 19 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Police said charges are being filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Farmington Twp.

Motor vehicle/buggy hit and run crash. Warren-based state police report that at 9:45 a.m. on April 24, Garrett L. Beedle, 24, Russell, was traveling east on Route 957, six-tenths of a mile east of Rowley Road, in a 2006 Ford 500. An Amish buggy, driven by Amos D. Byler, 24, Sugar Grove, was also traveling east, and as he crested a hill, Beedle attempted to use evasive action to avoid striking the buggy. Police said due to a vehicle traveling west, he attempted to pass the buggy on the right, and struck the right front wheel of the buggy, the buggy assembly and the horse. Police said Beedle continued to travel east, with no tire, and failed to stop to give information and render aid, if needed. The buggy traveled an additional 310 feet, and came to rest on the south berm. Police said Beedle was later located in a parking lot in Lander, and admitted that he had been involved in the crash. Police said he was charged with failure to drive at a safe speed, and will appear before District Justice Laura Bauer. Byler, his passengers, Katie Byler and a two-year-old, were not injured. Police said the buggy and the injured horse were removed from the scene by a private party.

Bear Lake

Recklessly endangering another person. Warren-based state police report that a known male suspect recklessly displayed a handgun, posing a danger to a known 12-year-old juvenile male at 12:45 p.m. on April 25. Police said charges are pending for recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct before District Justice Arthur Zerbe. Police did not release the name of the accused.

Tidioute

Warrant arrest. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office report that at about 3 p.m. on April 25, deputies, assisted by Tidioute police and Warren County Adult Probation, arrested Jared Hultberg, 27, Jamestown, N.Y., in Tidioute. He was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for fines and court costs on an original charge of DUI. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported that on April 18 at 2:10 p.m. Walmart Loss Prevention witnessed Kaitlyn Owles, 22, and Kathy Exley, 50, both of Warren, conceal $151.02 worth of merchandise. Police subsequently charged both subjects with one count each of summary retail theft.

Glade Twp.

Theft by deception. Warren-based state police reported that someone contacted a known 84-year-old female, Shipmans Eddy, and advised the victim that she had won an undisclosed amount of money and that she would need to pay $1,000 to receive the total winnings.

Sheffield Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on April 15 at 2:51 a.m. a known 27-year-old male and known 24-year-old female, both of Youngsville, entered into a verbal argument that became physical in nature on W. Main St. As a result of the investigation, charges of harassment were filed against both accused with District Justice Glenn Carlson. Police did not identify either suspect.

Tidioute

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on April 15 at 1:38 a.m. a 21-year-old male and Daniel Ryan Lemaster, 30, both of Tidioute, were inside the Tidioute Hotel drinking when a verbal argument was escalated by Lemaster, subjecting the victim to unwanted physical contact. A charge of harassment was filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe.

Supervisor’s warrant. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jessica L. James, 27, Clarendon, was arrested on April 22 on a supervisor’s warrant for a probation/parole violation and incarcerated in the Warren County Jail awaiting further court action.

Bench warrant. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that Glenn Andrew Slocum, 27, Warren, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by District Justice Glenn Carlson for failure to appear for his preliminary hearing on April 22 for charges of criminal attempt, simple assault; two counts of recklessly endangering another person and two counts of harassment, subjecting another to physical contact. He was taken in front of District Justice Arthur Zerbe for arraignment and was placed in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Conewango Twp.

Accident. Conewango Township police said they are looking for assistance in locating a light blue Hyundai Santa Fe, possibly a 2004-2005, SUV that was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident at the gas pumps at the Kwik Fill at Vine Street and Route 62 in North Warren at 5:45 p.m. on April 2. The driver/owner is asked to call the township police at 726-0725 to complete an exchange of information with the driver/owner of the red Saturn Vue.

DUI. Warren-based state police report that at 2:37 a.m. on April 10, Charlette Bell Stiffler, 29, Frewsburg, N.Y., was pulled over for multiple traffic violations in the area of Vine Street and Route 62. Police said she was subsequently arrested for DUI and various controlled substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act violations. Charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Freehold Twp.

Hit and run crash. Warren-based state police report that sometime between 10 p.m. on April 21 and 7 a.m. on April 22, a vehicle traveling east on Route 957 left the south side of the roadway, entered and exited a ditch, traveled across a driveway and struck a mailbox. The vehicle, which was determined to be a black Ford Fusion, model 2009-2012 left the scene without notification. Anyone with information should contact the state police at 814-663-2043.

Sheffield Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police report that a 9:44 a.m. on April 21, Earl M. Rich, 53, Kane, turned a 2011 Ford F350 onto Cherry Run Road east of Route 948 when he went off the north side of the roadway and rolled down an embankment. There were no injuries, and he was cited for careless driving.

Charged. Warren City police said Brandon Arp, 27, Russell, was charged with 2 counts of DUI and driving on roadways laned for traffic on March 29 following a traffic stop.

Charged. Warren City police said Andrew Davis, 22, Erie, was charged with two counts of DUI, driving while suspended or revoked and driving on roadways laned for traffic on April 1 following a traffic stop.

Cited. Warren City police said Ernest Seber Jr. 75, Warren, was cited for a stop sign violation April 14 following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Conewango and Glade avenues.

Cited. Warren City police said Frank Szarowicz, 40, Warren, was cited for public drunkenness on April 16 after officers were dispatched to a report of a man who had fallen.

Cited. Warren City police said Denny Meabon, 37, Warren, was cited for criminal trespass and harassment on April 17 after officers took a report that he was repeatedly harassing the victim.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brittany C. Breon, 24, Sheffield, on April 21 at 3:30 p.m. at District Justice Glenn Carlson’s office on a bench warrant on an original charge of DUI, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Breon was arraigned before District Justice Laura Bauer and incarcerated in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Mead Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on April 19 between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. a known 31-year-old victim, Clarendon, was observed driving at a high rate of speed along Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon being followed by a Warren City Police vehicle, the driver pulled over and advised that she was involved in a domestic argument where the other person involved, a known 28-year-old male, struck her and that she was on her way to the state police to report the crime. However, police said, she drove past multiple 24-hour businesses where she could have called the police and used as a safe haven. Police said she was subsequently arrested for DUI and refused chemical testing.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on April 19 at 11:55 p.m. on Route 62 north of Hickory Lane. According to police, a 2005 Dodge Stratus, driven by Clarissa A. Davis, 26, Jamestown, N.Y., was traveling south on Route 62 and left the roadway onto the berm and shoulder, traveling approximately 160 feet along the shoulder and across Hickory Lane. The vehicle struck a tree with its right side front door and spun 180 degrees around as it traveled approximately 15 feet into a depression. Police said Davis was not injured but was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.

Spring Creek

Twp.

DUI. Warren-based sate police reported that on April 18 at 2:46 a.m. Shane Polach, 36, Fairview, Pa., was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop while operating a 2013 Dodge Ram truck. Police said a criminal complaint was filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s office.

Bear Lake

Domestic. Corry-based state police reported that on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. a known 34-year-old female and Darren Lee McCaslin, 39, both of Bear Lake, entered into a verbal argument that turned physical at a Greeley Street residence. Police said the victim attempted to leave the scene and the suspect got into his vehicle and began to drive towards the victim, nearly striking the victim with his vehicle. Police said McCaslin then stopped the vehicle and shoved the victim to the ground multiple times and then began to drag the victim by the shirt collar, causing minor abrasions to the victim’s neck. McCaslin then kicked the victim in the face causing the left cheek to swell up, including broken blood vessels in the left eye of the victim. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and committed to the Warren County Jail. He was arraigned before District Justice Miller of Forest County.

Clarendon

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that on April 2 someone gained access to a rental property on Anchor Street belonging to Marlin Peachey, Clarendon, land removed two gas fireplaces. Police said the investigation remains open.

Youngsville

Disorderly conduct. Warren-based state police reported that on April 17 at 11:10 p.m. Wendi Copley, Youngsville, was causing a disturbance in a public area on E. Main Street. Police said Copley advanced toward a police officer and attempted to remove an object from the officer’s hand.

Elk Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Cable Hollow Road east of Fox Hill Road on April 19 at 6:55 a.m. According to police, a 2005 Jeep Liberty, driven by Travis C. Johnson, 21, Russell, was traveling east on Cable Hollow Road when it crossed the westbound lane and struck an embankment. The vehicle continued heading east where it hit a utility pole before coming to rest. Police said Johnson was arrested for DUI and several traffic violations but was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene. REA was dispatched to replace the pole and several residences were without power for a few hours. Russell and Scandia volunteer firefighters responded to the scene and closed the road since power lines were down across it.

Mead Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 south of Six Mile Road on April 17 at 11:05 a.m. According to police, a 2005 Ford Taurus, driven by Shana J. Snyder, 32, Kane, was traveling west on Route 6 and a 2003 Subaru Baja, driven by Joshua M. Bigelow, 39, Warren, was also traveling west and was slowing to make a left turn into a private drive. Snyder was unable to stop prior to hitting Bigelow’s vehicle in the rear. A four-year-old passenger of Snyder’s sustained what police described as minor injuries. All others involved were not injured. Police said Snyder was cited or following too closely.

Farmington Twp.

Recovered. Warren-based state police said they recovered a stolen Polaris Snowmobile on April 12 on White Road. The snowmobile was stolen from a Chautauqua County, N.Y., location on Jan. 9. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, the state police or Crime Stoppers.

Pleasant Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police said at 8:53 a.m. April 19, Joseph F. Saeli Jr., 59, Warren, was traveling north on Pleasant Drive when Melena S. Burry, 38, Warren, turned left from Pleasant Drive onto Drumcliffe Road. Police said Saeli swerved his 2011 Ford Fusion to avoid the crash, but Burry’s 2014 Dodge Durango struck the front driver side. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police said both drivers and Burry’s two passengers received minor seatbelt and airbag-related injuries, with Burry and one of her passengers transported to Warren General Hospital by Emergycare Ambulance for further evaluation. Police said Burry was charged with improper turning.

Sheffield Twp.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that at 6:10 p.m. April 11 Johnnie L. Calhoun, 50, was arrested after it was determined he was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol on Route 6 east of Route 666.

Southwest Twp.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that on March 28 at 6:15 p.m. Carrie Frances Fox, 54, was stopped for a reported traffic violation on Enterprise Road. Police said Fox was subsequently arrested for DUI. Charges were filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Watson Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that on April 2 at 4:16 p.m. John William Oelschlager, McDonald, Pa., contacted police to report a burglary at his camp on Riverside Lane. Police said multiple items were missing from the camp including a small amount of cash, an unknown amount of alcohol and a pair of binoculars. Police said the investigation remains open.

Youngsville

Burglary. According to Youngsville Borough police, Elaine McIntyre reported that sometime in the last month, someone entered her garage at 37 Fifth St. and stole a Remington .22-caliber rifle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Youngsville police or Crime Stoppers.

Warren

Drug paraphernalia. Warren City police said Alissa Glass, 22, Jamestown, N.Y., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on April 11.

Disorderly conduct. Warren City police said Andrew Miles, 49, Warren, was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on April 11 after officers responded to a report of a male subject yelling and screaming obscenities on the front porch of a residence.

Simple assault. Warren City police said Shawn Dibble, 32, Warren, was charged with simple assault on April 11 after officers responded to a domestic dispute where he had headbutted the victim causing an injury to her nose. Police said he was placed in the Warren County Jail on an emergency commitment.

PFA violation. Warren City police said John Pascuzzi, 55, Warren, was charged with a violation of a PFA on April 12. He was arraigned before District Justice Glenn Carlson and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Crash. Warren City police said Christopher Turner, 32, Warren, was cited for a red light violation following a two-vehicle traffic accident on April 13 at the intersection of Market Street and Third Avenue.

Crash. Warren City police said Ernest Seber, 75, Warren, was cited for a stop sign violation following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Conewango and Glade avenues on April 14.

Columbus Twp.

DUI. Corry-based state police reported that on April 14 at 3:18 a.m. Clinton Cook, 46, Warren, was traveling on Rt. 957 and was observed making a traffic violation. After contacting Cook, it was determined he was driving under the influence of a controlled substance. When Cook exited the vehicle, he threw a suspected pipe and resisted subsequent arrest. Cook was taken into custody and found to be in possession of suspected cocaine, marijuana and related paraphernalia. Police said Cook will face charges of DUI, possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence. Charges will be filed with District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office in Youngsville.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police were dispatched to Wal-Mart at 6:25 p.m. April 2 for a report of retail theft. According to police, Walmart Loss Prevention personnel had stopped Ewing S. Williams Correa, 21, and Frances Jannell Santiago Ramos, 24, both of Jamestown, N.Y., for shoplifting. Police said both suspects were charged with misdemeanor retail theft after attempting to leave the store with $861.40 worth of unpaid merchandise. Charges have been filed at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Youngsville

Aggravated assault. Youngsville Borough police were dispatched to Youngsville High School at approximately 11:45 a.m. Wednesday for an assault against a teacher. According to police, a 16-year-old male student punched a male teacher in the head and face area several times. Police said the juvenile was taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Probation. Youngsville police were assisted by Warren-based state police.

Columbus Twp.

Theft. Corry-based state police reported that Jason Len Proper, 38, Columbus, discovered several miscellaneous items stolen from his New Park Ln. property. Police said the thefts occurred sometime between Jan. 1 and April 13. The investigation continues.

Freehold Twp.

Crash. Corry-based state police responded to a crash on April 12 at 1:30 p.m. on Happy Town Rd. A 2008 red/black Honda TRX 700 ATV, driven by Cheri Ann Foster, 39, Corry, was traveling too fast for conditions, lost control on some gravel and crashed into an embankment. Foster and a 14-year-old female juvenile passenger were thrown from the ATV as it rolled over. Police said both sustained minor injuries and were wearing helmets. Charges will be filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Crash. Corry-based state police responded to a crash on April 13 at 6:20 p.m. on Eldred Hill Rd. just south of Deadmans Run Rd. A known juvenile was traveling northbound on a Polaris 570 ATV. The operator was negotiating a downhill right-hand curve at an excessive speed when the operator lost control of the unit on the gravel roadway. The ATV traveled off the left side of the road, overturning and ejecting the operator. Police said the operator was transported via Corry Ambulance to UPMC Hamot for treatment of severe injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Bear Lake

Criminal trespass. Corry-based state police reported that on April 11 at 11:50 p.m. Matthew Snyder, 30, Stockton, NY, unlawfully entered a Main St. residence belonging to a known 72-year-old female, Bear Lake, to puck up his daughter. During the process, Snyder also made verbal threats toward a known 24-year-old female, Stockton. An arrest warrant was issued for burglary, criminal trespass, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said Snyder was subsequently arrested by Chautauqua County Sheriffs and is awaiting extradition back to Warren County.

Farmington Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Jackson Run Rd. on April 9 at 2:02 p.m. A 1968 Oldsmobile, driven by Allan D. Miller, 50, Pittsfield, was traveling west on Jackson Run Rd. one mile west of Creamery Rd. when the vehicle went onto the shoulder of the westbound lane. Miller attempted to gain control over the vehicle but the vehicle started to skid counter-clockwise before striking an embankment and rolling over on the eastbound berm. Miller was transported to Warren General Hospital by Sugar Grove ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries. Lander VFD responded as well. Miller was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license and other traffic violations.

Columbus Twp.

Harrasment. State police report that at 12:50 a.m. on April 6, Leonard John Jukes, 70, Columbus, pushed a 21-year old victim after an argument about use of a vehicle. The victim fell and hit her head, and Jukes was charged with harassment in District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Pleasant Twp.

Crash. State police report that at 8:40 a.m. on April 10, Michelle L. Williams was traveling south on Mohawk Avenue and lost control of the 2001 Ford Escape she was driving and failed to negotiate a left curve 1,296 feet north of Morrison Run Road. The vehicle hit an embankment on the western side of the roadway which caused the vehicle to flip forward, coming to rest on its passenger side, facing north. Williams was transported to Warren General Hospital with minor injuries. Police were assisted at the scene by Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department and Emergycare. The vehicle was towed, and Williams was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

Warren

Forgery. Sean Strong, 42, Ashville, N.Y., was charged with forgery and unsworn falsification to authorities on March 16 following an investigation by police.

Accident. Christopher Cruzado, 45, Warren, was cited for following too closely on April 1 following a two-vehicle accident at Market Street and Fifth Avenue.

Assault. Brian Bailey, 40, Warren, was charged with two counts of simple assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and criminal mischief after police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance. He was remanded to the Warren County Jail on an emergency commitment.

Accident. Victoria Hanson, 66, Warren, was cited for careless driving on April 4 following a one-car accident on Market Street where she struck a cement encased pole on the front of a building and the building itself.

Assault. Derick Mahaney, 18, Warren, was charged with simple assault and harassment on April 9 after officers responded to his residence for a report of a domestic dispute. He was arraigned before District Justice Glenn Carlson and released on $5,000 bail.

Drug arrest. On April 6 the Warren County Drug Task Force received a complaint regarding a known 18-year-old male dealing controlled substances to students at Warren Area High School. According to District Attorney Rob Greene, WCDTF Agents conducted an undercover operation which resulted in the arrest of Hashaun Leeper near the park on Crescent Avenue. Police said hash oil and other items indicating drug sales were seized. Leeper was committed to the Warren County Jail and a bond was set at $25,000.00.

Pine Grove Twp.

Accident. Pennsylvania State Police report that on April 9 at about 8 p.m. a vehicle operated by Phyllis Loomis, 85 of Russell, was traveling north on Route 62 near the Valentine Run intersection when it collided with a pickup truck operated by Troy Steuart, 17 of Warren, which was stopped, waiting to make a left turn onto Valentine Run. Loomis received minor injuries and was taken to Warren General Hospital by Russell Volunteer Fire Department ambulance. Loomis was cited for driving at a safe speed.

Conewango Twp.

Accident. Warren-based state police reported a two-car accident at about 8:20 a.m. on April 10 at the intersection of Follett Run Road and Logan Road. Police said a vehicle operated by Brandon N. Birchard, 29, of Warren was traveling south on Logan Road and stopped at a stop sign at Follett, but then proceeded through the intersection, striking a car operated by Steven J. Blume, 60, of Warren. There were no injuries reported. Both vehicles were disabled in the accident.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that on March 19 at 5:04 p.m. on Beaver Ln. at the intersection with Sr. 62, William Thomas Lemeur, 58, Warren, was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was suspected that Lemeur was under the influence of alcohol at the time of contact. Lemeur was subsequently taken into custody for DUI. Police said charges were filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office in Youngsville.

Conewango Twp.

Scams. Conewango Township police were notified by several residents about another phone scam similar to IRS scams. The residents received messages from an individual with a strong accent reporting to be from the U.S. Treasury Department. This individual stated that the resident must call a phone number to avoid criminal prosecution. This tactic is utilized to obtain one’s personal information or to have a victim send money to avoid “enforcement actions” or “criminal actions” or “grand jury action.” Police again remind residents to avoid being victims of these types of scams.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Richard Livingston, 24, Spartansburg, on a bench warrant for failure to appear for fines and costs court as directed by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas. Livingston was also arrested on a supervisor’s warrant for a parole violation and was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail awaiting further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Arrest. Gregory Renouf Martin, 46, was arrested on charges of parole violation, Thursday, by officers of Warren County adult probation with assistance from Conewango Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police. According to adult probation, Martin was paroled in February on a simple assault charge. He was found inside a room at the Red Maple Inn with a victim from a prior assault in violation of a protection from abuse order, officers said. Martin was arrested on a supervisor’s warrant and taken to Warren County jail.

Southwest Twp.

Crash. Two Warren residents suffered significant injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Route 27 in Southwest Township Tuesday afternoon. According to Pennsylvania State Police, Harold Miller, 84, suffered major injuries, and Mary A. Miller, 83, suffered moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Police said Harold Miller was driving eastbound when the vehicle left the left side of the road. The car struck a culvert and several small trees before coming to rest after striking a large tree at the middle of the driver side. Both driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle by emergency responders and flown by emergency helicopter to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment.

Arrest. On April 2, officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department with assistance from the Warren City Police Department, arrested Duane Alan Smithers, 36, Warren, on charges of violation of probation. City police officers initially responded to a disturbance complaint outside a local tavern and found Smithers in a highly intoxicated state. Witnesses stated that Smithers had been involved in a physical altercation with two individuals. Probation officers took Smithers into custody and transported him to the Warren General Hospital emergency room for medical clearance prior to being committed to the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Criminal mischief/attempted burglary. Conewango Township police were called on the evening of April 5 in reference to a storage unit having been broken into at 625 S. State St. Minimal damage was caused and no items were missing from within. Anyone with information is asked to contact Conewango police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Freehold Twp.

Theft. Corry-based state police reported that between Feb. 1 and April 2 a known 31-year-old male, Mascotte, Fl., reported that a known male suspect, Lottsville, stole an unknown amount of personal checks belonging to the victim. The victim stated that the suspect had cashed an unknown number of said checks at several locations, drawing money from the victim’s bank account. Police said the investigation continues.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on April 2 at 7:15 p.m. Cody Jackman, 31, Youngsville, subjected a known 23-year-old male victim to physical contact outside of the victim’s residence on Conewango Ave. A non-traffic citation for harassment was filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Youngsville

Liquor law violation. The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement of the Pennsylvania State Police reported on April 6 that Harold A. and F. Marie Groves, operators of Down Under in Youngsville, failed to require patrons to vacate that part of the premises habitually used for the service of alcoholic beverages not later than one-half hour after the required time for the cessation of alcoholic beverages. Police said the offense occurred on Dec. 20, 2014. These charges were brought before an administrative law judge on March 18 who imposed a $300 fine.

Pittsfield Twp.

School bus crash. Warren-based state police report that at 7:30 a.m. on April 2, Kimberlee A. Hoover, 50, Pittsfield, was driving a 2012 Nissan Versa on Route 27 and failed to observe that a 2007 Bluebird Vision school bus driven by Diana M. Sleeman, 58, Warren, was stopped behind traffic at the intersection of Route 27, Route 6 and the old Pittsfield Road. Police said Hoover’s vehicle struck the rear of the school bus, and she received minor injuries. Police said Sleeman and 21 students on the bus were not injured. Police said Hoover was cited for failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed; her vehicle was towed from the scene.

Youngsville

Drug possession. Youngsville Borough police were called to Youngsville High School at approximately 12:30 p.m. April 2 for a female student in possession of a controlled substance. Police said they seized a white powdery substance and pills from the student. All of the seized items will be sent to Erie Regional Crime lab for analysis. Police said the student was released to her guardian and that charges will be filed with Juvenile Probation.

Niagara Falls,

N.Y.

Fugitive from justice. According to a report on the Buffalo News’ website Saturday, Justin E. Mueller, 29, Clarendon, who selling meat from the back of a pickup truck, was arrested Friday evening as a fugitive from justice. The report said Niagara Falls police officers went to the 8900 block of Cayuga Drive just before 6 p.m. to investigate reports of two men selling meat door-to-door without a valid permit. When police conducted a record check on the driver, they discovered an outstanding warrant for Mueller’s arrest. He was wanted in Chautauqua County, N.Y., on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Police said his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Burglary. The burglary of a camp between mid-November and Thursday is under investigation by Warren-based state police. According to police, someone entered the camp on Riverside Lane, owned by an Irvine man, and took a shotgun and two knives. Youngsville

Underage. Youngsville Borough Police have charged Joshua Reynolds, 20, Youngsville, with public intoxication and underage drinking. Police said Reynolds attempted to elude police, was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and placed under arrest on March 4.

Burglary. Youngsville Borough Police are investigating a burglary that occurred between 1 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at 151 W. Main St. According to police, someone forced entry into the apartment and stole prescription medication. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 563-7555 or Crimestoppers.

Cited. Warren City police said Michelle James, 40, Warren, was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle following a traffic accident in a parking lot where she struck a parked vehicle and left the scene on March 24.

Cited. Warren City police said Cassie Witz, 25, Warren, was cited for cited for public drunkenness on March 28 after officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

Cited. Warren City police said Estella Morgach, 32, Warren, was cited for harassment on March 28 after officers responded to a domestic dispute at her residence.

Cited. Warren City police said Gilbert Shirley, 50, Warren, was cited for harassment on March 27 following a domestic dispute at his residence.

Charged. Warren City police said Jack Larson, 57, Warren, was charged with retail theft and theft by unlawful taking on March 29 after he was found to have removed $61.37 worth of merchandise from Thorne’s BiLo without paying.

Cited. Warren City police said Kenneth Brady, 51, Warren, was cited for retail theft on March 30 after consuming a beverage at Thorne’s BiLo without paying for it.

Charged. Warren City police said Joshua Wilson, 19, Warren; Meghan Johnston, 18, Warren; and a juvenile female were all charged with underage drinking on March 14 after officers responded to a noise complaint.

Brokenstraw

Twp.

Possession of drug paraphernalia. Warren-based state police report that on March 24 at 12:30 p.m., a trooper made contact with Kaylee S. Edwards, 27, Youngsville, during a request to assist EMS with an unresponsive female in a vehicle. Edwards was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and a criminal complaint was filed charging her with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conewango Twp.

Multiple hit and run crash. Conewango Township police said an arrest has been made in the wake of series of hit and run crashes that occurred between S. State Street and Jackson Run Road on March 27 at approximately 3::38 p.m. Police said Diana S. Means, Warren, was driving her gold-colored Dodge Caravan north on Market Street in North Warren when she rear-ended a Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck, which was occupied by Gregory Burkett and passenger Seth Clark. Police said Means immediately fled the scene of that crash and continued traveling north on Market Street where she rear-ended a second vehicle, a Ford Focus occupied by Kristy Waite. Police said after colliding with Waite’s vehicle, Means fled west on Vine Street where she came to a dead end. Burkett, Waite and a witness, Gene Doverspike, attempted to block Means in with their vehicles at the end of the road to prevent her from fleeing. Means responded by traveling around all three occupied vehicles and through a yard located at 215 Vine Street. Police said Means then fled the scene through the rear of the Sheetz parking lot. Police said during the duration of this incident, there was an 11-year-old child in the back seat of Means’ vehicle. As a result of the news release published in the Times Observer, police said they received information from two sources which led them to speak with Means. Police said during questioning, Means confessed to committing the offenses. Police subsequently charged her with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, 10 counts of recklessly endangering another person, two counts of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle, accidents involving damage to unattended property, three counts of reckless driving, driving while operating privilege is suspended, two counts of following too closely and trespass by motor vehicle.

Bad check. Conewango Township police reported that Michele L. Williams, 41, Warren, issued a check to Dave’s Auto on March 2 for $550 that was returned not sufficient funds. Notice was sent to Williams and she failed to make good on the check. Police said they charged Williams with one count of misdemeanor bad checks.

Crash. Conewango Township police reported that Matthew Smith, Warren, was travelling north on State Street in North Warren on Tuesday afternoon when his Ford Fusion slid off the east side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. Police said the vehicle had to be towed from the scene and Smith was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions.

DUI. Conewango Township police reported that on March 19 at 8:47 p.m. officers were dispatched to Market Street in North Warren for a report of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes. Dispatch then advised of a motor vehicle accident in front of 2425 Market St. Police said the suspect vehicle then fled north on Market Street. Police said Michelle Eng, 57, Jamestown, N.Y., was found on Market Street north of Hatch Run Road and was under the influence of alcohol. Eng was charged with DUI and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle as well as other traffic violations. Charges were filed with District Justice Laura Bauer.

Pittsfield Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on March 26 at 3:50 p.m. that on a school bus near Moore Lane. a known 13-year-old male from Grand Valley subjected a known 14-year-old female, Pittsfield, to physical contact. Police said a non-traffic citation will be filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe.

Sheffield Twp.

Drug possession. Warren-based state police reported that on March 30 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. suspected marijuana was found at the residence of a known 27-year-old male, Sheffield, while police were on scene on W. Main Street for a separate incident. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Youngsville

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on March 29 at 6:49 p.m. Richard Foster, 30, Youngsville, and a known 29-year-old female, also of Youngsville, became involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in physical contact while at a Homestead Drive residence. Police said a non-traffic citation was filed against Foster through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office for harassment.
