Brokenstraw Township

Crash. Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on March 19 at 4:06 p.m. on US 6 at the intersection with Seeley Lane. Charles F. Steffens, 55, Spring Creek, was driving east in a 2008 Dodge Caravan following behind Robert W. Larson, 79, Tidioute, who was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Express. Police say Larson’s vehicle was legally stopped in the roadway behind traffic when it was struck by Steffen’s vehicle. No injuries were reported but Steffens was cited for following too closely.

Scam. Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police report that a 31-year-old male, Youngsville, attempted to purchase a Playstation 5 through Facebook and was scammed out of $550. Police say the case is currently under investigation.

Elk Township

Scam. Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police reported that on March 12 a 66-year-old female, Russell, was scammed from someone acting as an Amazon employee. Police say $4,500 in Target gift cards were stolen and that the investigation is ongoing.

Pittsfield Township

Crash. Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on March 19 at 2:50 p.m. Jonathan E. Crowell, 49, Meadville, was traveling east on Route 27 west of Bailey Lane. when police say he looked away from the roadway causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a guide rail. No injuries were reported but police say Crowell was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Tidioute

Burglary. Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Main Street. for a report of a burglary. Police discovered that 201 Main St. had been burglarized between Nov. 15 and March 20 and that a safe with historical documents and an antique tobacco pipe collection had been taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
