Strangulation. Kaylee N. Smith, 36, of Sheffield was charged with strangulation – applying pressure to throat or neck, a class 2 felony, simple assault and harassment – subjecting another to physical contact Jan. 24 by the State Police at Warren for an incident in Sheffield Township. Bail was set at $10,000.
Unlicensed firearm. Jacob B. Wheel, 30, of West Lebanon, N.H., was charged with firearm not to be carried without license – no criminal violation and restrictions on alcoholic beverages Jan. 25 by Conewango Township Police. Bail was set at $50,000.

False Statement. Luke M. Sturdevant, 39, of Warren was charged with selling or transfer of firearm – false written statement, a class 3 felony, and statement under penalty Jan. 29 by the State Police at Warren for a statement allegedly made Feb. 24, 2024, in Pine Grove Township.
False Statement. Benjamin D. Thomas, 24, of Warren was charged with materially false written statement – purchase, delivery, transfer of firearm, a class 3 felony, and statement under penalty Jan. 23 by Conewango Township Police for a statement allegedly made Oct. 9, 2024, in Conewango Township.
W. WARREN COUNTY – DISTRICT JUDGE TODD WOODIN
Game Commission Violation. Matthew A. Cser, 56, was cited for unlawful devices and methods, unlawful acts concerning licenses and unlawful taking or possession of game or wildlife Jan. 29 by state game wardens for an incident Jan. 3 in Deerfield Township.
Drug Possession. Matthew O.D. Mitchell, 39, of Corry was charged with intentional possession of controlled substances by a person not registered and two counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia Jan. 29 by the State Police at Warren for an incident Nov. 15, 2024, in Spring Creek Township.
DUI. Virgil L. Wolfe, 44, of New Brighton, Pa., was charged with DUI/unsafe driving, three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol/controlled substances and vehicle and traffic infractions Jan. 29 by State Police at Warren for an incident Dec. 6 in Southwest Township.
