Injuries reported in fire that destroys Pittsfield property

Fire struck a Main Street, Pittsfield, residence Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out at 355-357 Main Street at about 12:47 p.m.
There were injuries reported with the fire and at least one patient was transported for treatment.
Owner Nathan Weaver said he heard a gas spill was the cause of the fire at the two-apartment property.
Some residents were at home at the time the fire broke out, according to Weaver.
The neighboring building — a laundromat and attached apartment — was evacuated, he said.
“It’s really unfortunate… a tragedy,” Weaver said. “My heart goes out to all the people that were in there.”
