Outdoor Club To Host Weekend Hikes
On Saturday the Allegheny Outdoor Club will host a family friendly hike at 10:30 a.m. at Winterfest at the Chapman Dam. Those participating should meet at the warming hut. The hike will be an out and back hike to the swinging bridge and campground and then return. On Sunday, the club will host a 4.2 miles with moderate hills. The hike will be off Forest Road 362 off of Pleasant Drive. Those attending should meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. Jim and Kim Berky will lead.

Monday evening at the YMCA, Chick Bello and Richard Woodruff came in first with Shelley Dahlie and Pat Fincher in second. Alice Kellogg placed first and Connie Michell was second on Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center. On Thursday at the Woman’s Club, Bill Massa was first and Donna Holding placed second.
The third week of the Bridge Marathon at the Woman’s Club revealed Sue Swab and Alice Kellogg in first place with Connie Michell and Bill Massa in second.
Community Blood Bank to host blood drive Feb. 6
The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at Warren General Hospital. Call 814-596-3395 to schedule an appointment to donate. Appointments are encouraged to reduce your wait time but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health as well as have a valid photo ID. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water.
