Second Harvest Food Pantry

Volunteers came out to service the Sugar Grove Second Harvest Food Pantry on Saturday, Oct. 21. The distribution provided needed supplies and food to more than 120 families. The next distribution will be Saturday, Dec. 16, and Santa will be arriving at 9 a.m. Reservations are required to see Santa and visit his workshop at the Food Pantry. If you did not get your spot reserved, call 489-3105 for more information on obtaining a reservation.

Boy Scouts Collect Food

The Sugar Grove Boy Scout Troop #17 will be delivering bags to porches throughout Sugar Grove on Sunday, Nov. 5. Fill these bags with your donations for the local Sugar Grove Food Pantry. Then place the bag back on your front porch on the second Sunday of the month, Nov. 12. The scouts will be around to gather up all donations and stock the local food pantry.

Food Pantry Trick or Treat

The Sugar Grove Food Pantry is held every Tuesday evening. On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Food Pantry will be open and kids are welcome to Trick or Treat at the Food Pantry. Bring a canned good and receive some great trick or treat prizes.

EES Parade and Parties

The Eisenhower Elementary School will hold its Annual Halloween Parade at 1 p.m. Friday with classroom parties to follow.

Outreach Luncheon Welcomes Fall

The Mission Covenant Church will once again start their Community Lunches in October at 11:30 a.m. All in the area are welcome to attend. Community Lunches at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church are held on the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. The Hessel Valley Church will hold their luncheons on the third Wednesday of each month.

Ministry Dinners

The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church offers Wednesday evening dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in its cafe. Each week a different ministry organization of the church prepares family friendly meals. The cost is only a donation. Everyone is welcome to come on over and join us for dinner.

Sugar Grove Book Club

The Sugar Grove Library Book Club will be meeting on Monday, October 30th at 6:30 p.m. at the Library. Remember the book this month is The Silver Star. Any readers are welcome to join in the discussion and fun each month.

Hurricane Relief

The Sugar Grove area is taking part in Hurricane Harvey Relief for our neighbors in Texas. Teams are being assembled in this area. Teams are 8 to 10 people of all diverse skill levels. They will be departing from this area each week from November 4 to December 9. All trips depart on Saturday and return the following Sunday. The cost is $500 per person, which will cover transportation, accommodations in dorm style rooms, and meals. While on site homes have been adopted and are ready to work on. The shell of the home is completed but there is electrical work, painting, etc.
