Knights of Columbus
The Tidioute Knights of Columbus will hold their regular general meeting on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at St. John Center at 7 p.m.
Details for the upcoming Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship will be addressed at this meeting.
Gun Winner
The winner of the Tikka 308 Caliber rifle was Phil Obsheat of Gibsonia.
The next drawing is for a Ruger 22 charger take down pistol with two 15 round magazines.
Tickets are $2 each sold at the VFW Bar or from any of the members.

Bake Sale Successful
Tidioute Community Charter School would like to thank the parents for their generous donation of Baked Goods that were sold at the recent Music Program.
They raised a total of $464.
CD Orders
The Music Boosters at Tidioute Community Charter School are selling CD’s of the Christmas Concert at a cost of $15 each.
Their recording class recorded all the musicians in the music room in order to ensure a quality sound track.
Sales will be capped at 300 copies. Sales will be on a first come basis.
Please place your order soon.
Proceeds will be used to purchase new microphones and lights for the stage.
Copies will be ready at the end of January.
Christmas Dinner Successful
Members of the Tidioute United Methodist Church prepared a wonderful Christmas Dinner with Ham, Turkey and all the trimming with lots of desserts as well.
Approximately 28 dinners were boxed up and delivered to those who could not get out, and at least 50 some people ate at the church.

Candlelight Services
Everyone is invited to come celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through Scripture and Song at the second annual Candlelight Service of Tidioute Baptist Church.
The Candlelight Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by concert pianist, Amber Nicholson.
Christmas Eve Mass
St Anthony Church, Tionesta will hold Mass on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. and Mass in Tidioute at St John Church will be at 8:30 p.m.

For those who wish to share the Christmas Spirit with friends and neighbors instead of staying home alone can come to the Tidioute Methodist Church on Christmas Day for a Christmas Dinner that is being served from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The menu will consist of ham and turkey and all the trimmings.
All are welcome to come and partake in this meal. Bring your family and friends.
Birthday Calendars
Tidioute Community Charter School Sports Boosters still have a few Community Birthday Calendars for sale.
These calendars make great stocking stuffers and gifts for family members who live out of town.
Cost is only $5 each and can be purchased at Tidioute Trading Post and Evan’s Market.

Winners
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members have announced the winners of the Christmas Cash Drawing.
Winners who will receive $250 cash each are Fran Stoneburg and Steven Strait, both of Tidioute.
Borough Office Closed
Tidioute Borough Office will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25 along with Saturday and Sunday for the Christmas Holidays.
The office will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28.

Tidioute residents will need to have their trash to the curb on Thursday morning as the garbage will be picked as usual on Thursday, Dec. 24.
Christmas Concert CDs
The Music Boosters of Tidioute Community Charter School are selling CDs of the recent Christmas Concert at a cost of $15 each.

Christmas Concert
Tidioute Community Charter School presented its Christmas Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the school.
TCCS Band started out the program with Christmas Gloria.
Students in grades first, second, and third sang, “I Saw Three Ships” and “Winter Fantasy”.
The Advanced Guitar Class played, “Ding, Dong Merrily on High”
Concert Choir members sang, “Sleigh Ride”, “Silent Night”, and “California Dreamin”.
Sixth-grade woodwind ensemble played, “Holiday Sampler”.
Piano Class members played, ” Jingle Bells”, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”, “When the Saints Go Marching In”, and Star Wars”.
Kindergarten class (k-4 and k-5) sang, “Oh Come, Little Children”, and “What You Gonna Call ?”.
Keyanna Oliphant, vocal solo, sang, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.
TCCS Band played, “To A New Beginning” and “Kings From the East”.
Grades 4th, 5th and 6th and the Advanced Guitar Class presented, “Who Comes This Night” and “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree”
Advanced Guitar Class played “Good King Wenceslas” and “We Three Kings”.
Concert Choir sang, ” Carol of the Bells” and Text Me Merry Christmas”.
TCCS Band then played “Simple Gifts”.
Holly Jolly Finale was, “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.
A beautiful concert, well done by all who participated.

Watson Grange
Master Matt Irons presided over the recent meeting of Watson Grange with 92-plus pounds of food brought in for Salvation Army.
Reports were received from Miranda Irons on the three Juniors: Brandon Thompson, Maddie Warham, and Gabbie Lindsay who received the official Junior Degree at the PA State Grange Session held in Warren in October. Kelly VanOrd reported on the successful Turkey Party, a Grill Party to be held April 16 which replaces a Turkey Party and will feature meats for grilling.
Bob Hollabaugh showed the tile purchased for the kitchen floor.
Garrett Wilcox was present and asked for permission to use the Lenhart Cemetery for the Eagle Scout project if approved by the Boy Scout Council. Grange members approved with the offer by the Grange to assist in any way possible.
Members of Brokenstraw Grange also attended and presented the idea of a float in the Warren 4th of July Parade with Watson Grange members participating which was also approved.
Lecturer VanOrd presented a program on Christmas with poems by Jean Hollabaugh and John Hollabaugh, a Christmas Quiz won by Matt Irons, a point game won by Meg Froman and a closing Christmas Prayer by Alice Weaver.
Miranda Irons and Deanna Hollabaugh are both facing carpal tunnel surgery.
Upcoming Grange events: Closing up the Grange Hall for the winter months on Dec. 23, A Dues Paying and birthday dinner on Jan. 14 at the VanOrd residence at 6:30 p.m. Craft night at Alice Weaver’s home on Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
The Feb. 11 meeting will be at Matt Irons’ home at 6:30 p.m. and the March 10 meeting will be at the home of John and Deanna Hollabaugh at 6:30 p.m.

Save the Rack Winner
Congratulations to the Tidioute Pub on its “Save The Rack” campaign win.
The winner’s party and trophy presentation will be at the Pub on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.

Tippy Canoe collected $117; Sportsman’s collected $335.50; Hotel Tidioute collected $ 58; the Pub collected $816 and the Landmark collected $ 102 for a total of $ 1428.50.
Holiday Ornaments
Tidioute Community Charter School Prom Committee is selling holiday ornaments in a limited quantity.
Each ornament measures 3 1/4 inch in diameter and is white shatterproof glossy with black lettering. They are individually boxed and the cost is $6 each.

Christmas
Presbyterian Women’s Association will gather at the Candlelight Inn on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. for its Christmas dinner.
Cost is $15 per person. A $5 donation per person will be collected and be donated to Love Inc.

New Gazebo
Tidioute Towers residents now have a new gazebo out back to replace the one that was destroyed by a fallen tree earlier this year.
Tidioute Borough took care of the necessary paperwork and arranged to get the new one built.

VFW Post 8803 members are still selling chances on a TIKKA T3 Hunter By Soko 308 cal. blue/walnut stock with scope mounts.
Chances are $2 each and the drawing will be on December 21, 2015. Tickets can be purchased at the Post Home.
Christmas Cash Raffle

Puppet Show
Otterbein Puppet show presented a program on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. with approximately 16 children present and just as many adults in attendance.
Earlier the children decorated cookies with the help of church members and Associate Catrina Leaman.
The children had their faces painted also.

Tidioute Methodist Church will hold Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. for those who would like to attend.
Swedish Union Church
The annual Christmas Candlelight Carol Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20 at the Swedish Union Church at 6 p.m.
Pastor Dale Timco will bring the Christmas Gospel message.
The congregation will join in carol singing concluding with the singing of “Silent Night” in the darkened church by candlelight accompanied by guitar.
Dr. Stephen Johnson, choral director, Clarion University, and his wife Denise, will once again minister in music.
Lifelong Tidioute residents recall the tradition of oranges and treats passed out to all in attendance after the service, and they have continued tradition for many years.
Join in this beautiful, historic church at the edge of the woods as they celebrate the Saviour’s birth.

Thank You Bell Ringers
We would like to thank all those who came out and volunteered some time to ring the bell for the Tidioute Salvation Army.
Ringers were at Trading Post, Northwest Savings Bank, and Evan’s Market.
We had the three locations, 51 volunteers and clocked in 141 hours.
Thanks to these wonderful volunteers and those who gave so generously we were able to collect $2,624.67 that will be used here in Tidioute next year to help those in need. Those who did not have a chance to donate and would still like to make a donation, you can make your checks payable to Tidioute Salvation Army and mail them to Linda Scott, 60 Jefferson St, Tidioute, PA 16351.
Christmas Caroling
Those who would like to join their friends and neighbors for some singing can meet at the Tidioute Methodist Church on Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. and go with the group to sing Christmas Carols throughout the borough of Tidioute.
Military Addresses

Donation To Liberty’s Way
Doris Svitek, president of he Tidioute VFW Auxiliary of Post 8803, presented a check from the auxiliary to the Liberty’s Way Church of Christ, which is a homeless shelter for veterans located in Lander in the former Lander Elementary School.

Trap Team News
Tidioute Community Charter School Trap Team held their raffle drawing on November 21 at the firehall during the Bear Check.
First place drawing was for the Remington Model 700 30.06 that was won by Rob Genter of Tidioute and second place prize of an Amish-made hickory rocker was won by Tom Waddell of Butter.
Dollar Dinner
Tidioute United Methodist church will be hosting a Dollar dinner on Wednesday, December 2 at 6 p.m. at the church.
This is open to all who would like to join them and of course the cost is only $1 per person.
No reservation is required.
Cookie Decorating
Anyone who would like to decorate cookies can meet members of the Methodist Church on Saturday, December 5 at noon and then at 1 p.m. they can watch the Otterbein Puppet Show.
You could make this a family event and a great time could be had by all.
Breakfast With Santa
