Thursday, January 19 will be Italian Meatball Hoagie with sauce and cheese, hoagie roll, seasoned new potatoes, mixed bean  medley, tapioca pudding.

Monday, January 23 will be Baked Ham Slice with fruit sauce, orange kissed mashed sweet potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, wheat bread, vanilla ice cream.

Tuesday, January 24, will be BBQ Chicken, seasoned red potatoes, country vegetable blend, diner roll, sugar cookie.

Thursday, January 26 will be Breaded Lemon Pepper Pollock, baked potato with sour cream, garden salad with tomato, dinner roll, sliced peaches with oatmeal topping.

Monday, January 30 will be Meatloaf with gravy, whipped potatoes, Italian beans, wheat bread, birthday cake.

Tuesday, January 31 will be Baked Vegetable Lasagna with Parmesan Cream Sauce, mixed greens, garlic bread stick, sliced apples with oatmeal topping.

Thursday, February 2 will be Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, mixed greens, navy bean soup, Italian bread, diced pears.

Monday, February 6 will be Roast Turkey and Gravy, stuffing, baby carrots, wheat bread, warm cinnamon applesauce.

Tuesday, February 7 will be Spaghetti with meatballs, pasta with sauce, mixed greens with tomato, cucumbers, carrots,  and cabbage, Italian Bread, sliced peaches.

Thursday, February 9 will be Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with gravy, whipped potatoes, sweet peas and carrots, wheat bread, sugar cookie.

Monday, February 13 will be Sloppy Joe sandwich, baked potato soup, wheat sandwich roll, pineapple tidbits.

Tuesday, February 14 will be House Blend Chicken Breast with gravy, Lyonnaise Potatoes, broccoli, wheat bread, cherry Cheesecake.

Thursday, February 16 will be Sweet Sausage with peppers and onions, redskin potatoes, green beans, sausage rolls, chocolate ice cream.

Call the center at 484-3020 to sign up for lunches.  This program is anyone who wants to attend and have a hot meal three days a week. You can pick and choose the days that you wish to attend, but you must call at least two days in advance so enough meals will be sent.

There is no age limit.  The only age related  thing is if you are age 60 or over there is a suggested $3 donation and under the age of 60 is a $4 suggested donation.  However, if you want to eat your meals there so that you have the togetherness with friends or come and make new friends and  funds are low, don’t worry  as meal donations are just that a donation, not mandatory.

Deerfield Township

Monthly meetings for the Deerfield Township Board of Supervisors will be held at the Deerfield Township Municipal building at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.

Dates for these meetings are February 13; March 13; April 10; May 8; June 12; July 10; August 14; September 11; October 9;  November 13 and December 11 for 2017.

If you have issues that need addressed, please attend these meetings and inform the supervisors of your issues.

Salt Squad

Salt Squad at Allegheny Bible Church is back in full force.

Activities begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings for children in the community in grades kindergarten to grade six.

Children participate in Bible verse memorization, Bible lesion, singing, crafts related to the scripture lesson, and of course, snacks.

“p1″>Points are earned each week to be used as “currency” towards a prize when “Salt Squad Store Night” is held and the accumulated points are tallied at the end of the year to determine awards and trophies earned.  The ministry of the Salt Squad program is  to encourage the understanding and memorization of the scriptures, and especially to ensure the children’s understanding of Jesus Christ’s  salvation message of the Gospel and how the Bible, from Old and New Testament, proclaims it.  The program was developed by Pastor Dale Timco during his years in youth ministry in the Pittsburgh area.

All community children in grades K to grade six are invited to attend.

Bingo Bus Trip

A Bingo Bus Trip will be traveling to Salamanca to Seneca Gaming  and Entertainment for a day of Bingo on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

There will be many games to play and chances to win cash.

The bus will depart from the Northwest Bank parking lot in Tidioute  at 9 a.m. and will return around 6 p.m.  There will be a stop at the Warren Mall around 9:30 a.m. to pick up more players.

Bus tickets are only $20 each which is non-refundable and includes an incentive package.

Must be 18 or older to attend.

Senior Center Program

On Monday, January 23, Tim Juliano will be at the Tidioute Senior Center to discuss Sleep issues.ss

This program is open to anyone who would like to attend and there is no charge for the program.

Food Commodity

Tidioute Food Commodity distribution will be on Wednesday, January 25  at Tidioute Towers in the community room, please remember to enter from the creek side of the building and do not park on the blacktop areas as that area is for residents only.  Please use the old railroad bed or Main St.

Make note of the day of the week changes.

Food can be picked up between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Food distribution is through Salvation Army.

VFW Auxiliary

VFW Post 8803 members are reminded of their monthly meeting on Saturday, January 28 at 9 a.m.

All members are asked to attend.

Wild Game Feast

The 13th  Annual Wild Game Feast at Tippy Canoe is set for Sunday, January 29 at 1 p.m.

TAVFD Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will be on Tuesday, January 31 at 6:30 p.m.

Members are urged to attend and are needed to help keep things going at the fire department.

Training sessions are Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.

The new EMT Class has begun and several of the fire department members are taking this class.

Department members took down the Christmas lights that graced our streets for the Christmas Season.

Valentine’s Dance

A dance is being planned for Saturday, February 11 at the VFW Post 8803.

Members and guests be able to enjoy an evening of Dancing and visiting with friends.

The band will be announced soon.

Second Harvest

The next Second Harvest Produce Express food distribution in Tidioute will be on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Tidioute Firehall.

Second Harvest is an equal opportunity provider.

Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis and is for Warren County residents in need of food assistance.

Please bring a couple of boxes or laundry baskets to carry your food in as the boxes are limited.

Bingo at Buccardo’s

There will be Bingo at Buccardo’s Restaurant on Sunday, February 5 at 1 p.m. the doors open at 12 noon.

Bingo games are sponsored by Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee.

Sons of American Legion

Members of the Sons of American Legion, Elzie E Lynch American Legion Post 0334 will meet on Sunday, February  5 at 10 a.m.

Blood Drive

There will be Blood Drive at the Tidioute Firehall on Thursday, February 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Individuals who are at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

High school students and donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Eligible blood donors can give every two months.

Please bring in a positive form of ID and a list of all medications you are taking when you come in to donate and eat a light meal prior to donating and you will need to increase your liquid intake after donating blood.

All blood types are needed.  The need for blood is constant. Your contribution is very important to maintain a healthy and plentiful blood supply.

  When you donate through the American Red Cross, you help saves lives by giving of yourself in just about an hour of your time.

You may never meet the person who receives your blood, but you’ll feel good knowing you helped change a life, or even helped save a life.

March Madness Raffle

American Legion Post 0334 of Tidioute is having a March Madness Raffle.

“p1″>This raffle has a 55” Vizio 4k Ultra HD TV as a First Place Prize and a 50″ Vizio 4k Ultra HD TV for a Second Place  Prize.

Tickets are only $5 each and the drawing will be on March 11, 2017. Only 500 tickets are being sold.

Henry Golden Boy

Servicemen’s Home Corporation is selling chances on a Henry Golden Boy 22LR.

Tickets are only $2 each and the drawing is set for March 20, 2017

Winner need not be present to win.  Tickets are on sale at the VFW.

Tidioute Health Fair

Once again Warren General will be hosting a Health Fair at the Tidioute Firehall located at 224 Main ST, Tidioute.

Date is set for Saturday, March 25 from 7 a.m. to  12 noon.

There will be Comprehensive Blood Testing. Informational and Interactive Displays. Free Screenings that will include: Body Fat Analysis, Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, BMI, Diabetic Foot Evaluations, Glaucoma Screenings, and Pulse Ox.

The Comprehensive Blood tests includes testing for Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Thyroid Function, Anemia, and Liver Disease.

Cost for the blood test is $40.00 which includes a light breakfast and beverages.

Men have the option of a prostate cancer testing for an additional cost of $17.00.

There is an A1C test, which shows blood glucose over a 2 to 3 month period, can be taken for $10.00.

Appointments are recommended, please call Linda at 814-484-7525 to schedule your appointment.

All blood draws will be done by Warren General Hospital lab employees.

There is a 12 fasting for the blood tests.

Also, there will be several organizations offering free samples and information on their services.

Noah’s Ark Trip

  Tidioute Presbyterian Church Trip will be June 19 and 20 (Monday and Tuesday) to see the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum.

New Logo

“p1″>Tidioute Borough has adopted a new Logo to replace the old logo of “Historic Tidioute”.  The one with the lady with the Victorian dress carrying an umbrella.

Tidioute will use the new logo to brand and promote Tidioute and our events.

The logo is being copyrighted to be use by Tidioute borough only. The new logo is from the art work  of Sara Aiello depicting a view of the Tidioute Overlook, she entered in a contest for council a while ago.

This logo has been used for the button that are on sale for $3 each and the new Borough Banners that will replace the older blue and green ones.
