A Pittsfield man was killed in a Clarion County accident Saturday morning.

Marienville-based Pennsylvania State Police responded to a motorcycle vs. tractor-trailer collision shortly before 11 a.m.

Police said that a 2009 Harley-Davidson Classic motorcycle, driven by Mark A. McCullough, 50, Pittsfield, “failed to stay in his lane while negotiating a right hand curve in the roadway” on Rt. 36 south of Salsgiver Dr. in Farmington Township.

McCullough “attempted to avoid the collision by braking, leaving slide marks from the motorcycle’s tires,” police said.

The motorcycle, according to police, impacted the front bumper of a 2005 Peterbilt, driven by Ricky E. Johnson, 57, Spartansburg.

According to exploreclarion.com, McCullough was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Johnson was not injured.
