Charter school closed through Thanksgiving break
Tidioute Community Charter School will remain closed for in-person instruction through the Thanksgiving holiday.
Last week, school officials announced a three day closure in response to a positive COVID-19 test.
Students have shifted to a remote learning model.
“TCCS is now on remote learning through our Thanksgiving break due to a situation that warrants remote learning,” Chief Educational Officer Dr. Doug Allen said Thursday. “TCCS follows CDC and Pa. Department of Health guidelines and the TCCS Board approved Return To School Plan.”
Allen said the plan is now for students to return for in-person instruction on Dec. 2, 2020.
“We are implementing the following procedures and protocols to ensure student and staff safety,” school officials said in a letter posted to the school’s Facebook page. “While these practices are not the usual way we prefer to do life at TCCS, the safety of our children and community is of greatest importance.”
The school announced that the meal service for students would continue.
Four days worth of meals were to be distributed on Thursday and then again next Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school.
