There were numerous sightings of twins (and higher multiples) at Warren Area Elementary Center on Tuesday.

In celebration of National School Counselor Week, WAEC is having a spirit week.

On Monday, students and staff returned from a surprise four-day weekend in their pajamas for Mellow Monday — “wear your PJs to relieve stress and lower your cortisol levels.”

Tuesday was Twins Day — “team up against stress. Dress like a friend because you aren’t alone.”

Next is Marvelous Wednesday — “dress like your favorite superhero because you are important.”

On Tie Dye Thursday, “colors can represent a wide range of emotions. It’s okay to express them.”

Wear Green Friday “for mental health awareness. Green represents the green light to reach out for help if needed.”

Celebrating School Counselor Week with some positive mental health images was School Counselor Kristen Everetts’ idea.

Everetts worked in the mental health field before starting as a school counselor this year.

“Mental health concerns in children are on the rise,” Everetts said. “This is one way to show them that it’s not just them when they struggle with something.”

“It ties teaching mental health to children in a fun and positive way,” she said.

The school is getting into the spirit.

“Everyone is loving it,” Everetts said. “It’s been fun to see how they’re twinning. The teachers and staff are getting involved as well.”

On Tuesday, the staff members in the life skills room were wearing black pants, gray shirts, and had their hair in pig tails.

Starting at $2.99/week.
