Lakeshore Community Services held an autism awareness event on Thursday at Holy Redeemer Church. The event included a host of community organizations and speakers but was perhaps highlighted with the BLUE (Believe, Love, Understand, Embrace) Award to an organization and individual serving the autism community. The Rotary Club of Warren was recognized as the organization for this year and the individual was Mandie Englert, who founded HEROES, a community support group for children with disabilities. Englert, right, was presented with the recognition by Lakeshore CEO Alan Benson.
