Room to grow at former Warren National Bank building
In 1904, the Warren National Bank building was built at the southwest corner of Liberty Street and Second Avenue in Warren.
Over the years, it became the PNC building until, in 2018, the Warren County Development Association — an affiliate of the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry — bought the property and began prepping it for multiple tenants, including one in particular.
“The primary motivation for purchasing the property was to provide appropriate operational office space for the administrative team of the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College here in Warren,” WCCBI President and CEO Jim Decker said. “The secondary motivation for the purchase was to ensure the continued structural and operational integrity of this cornerstone historic facility.”
Those two goals were satisfied with the same work.
“At the time of purchase the upper floors of the property had been neglected and unusable,” Decker said.v“NPRC administrative staff now occupies the totally renovated floors four and five of the property.”
PNC continues to retain a presence in the building.
“At that time the only occupant of the property was the PNC Wealth Management staff who continue to operate out of half of the ground floor of the building,” Decker said. “The remaining ground floor area was remodeled to create Innovault, Warren County’s only co-working facility, opening in February of 2022.”
The primary goals have been accomplished — the building is no longer deteriorating and the primary tenants are in place.
Next, there is room to grow.
“The WCDA continues to work to identify community, education or business needs that could be appropriately met with the space available on the second and third floors,” Decker said.
