Students at Beaty-Warren Middle School have been working toward the Spring Carnival all year.

The carnival is part of the school’s School-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support program.

“These kids work hard all year,” Assistant Principal Shelly Wagner said Friday. “They earn FIRE points. This is a way they can spent all those points.”

“Students use the points that they earn for positive behavior to buy into activities,” Principal Shannon Yeager said.

They could watch a movie in the auditorium, take a tour of Warren, go swimming at the City of Warren Municipal Pool or miniature golfing at Pro Putt by Dairy Queen, or play in pickleball or basketball tournaments at Beaty Park.

“We have something for everyone,” Wagner said.

The concession stand accepted FIRE points.

The carnival was the fourth and last of the school year. And, there are other opportunities to use points during the year. Students were not required to have points to participate in the carnival.

“If they didn’t have enough points to buy into an activity, they can still participate in the stand-alone activities,” Yeager said.

There was a tie-dye station.

They could take a chance on dropping teachers, administrators, and officers, in the cool water of the dunk tank.

Some students had their faces painted.

Students could opt for a water battle with law enforcement agents.

It was a beautiful, sunny day for students to get soaked by officers from City of Warren Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and Pennsylvania State Police.

“The kids are loving it,” Wagner said. “The police seem to be loving it more.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
