Conewango Creek cleanup set for September 10
The Conewango Creek Watershed Association will hold its 13th annual Conewango Creek Cleanup on Sept. 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants are asked to pre-register at www.conewangocreek.org. A variety of jobs on-water and off are available.
Those participating should meet at the Front Street canoe launch at 3 Front St., Warren, at 8 a.m. and finalize registration. Waivers must be signed. The association will provide canoes, paddles, vests, gloves and bags. Participants are asked to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, hat, long pants and long sleeves. They should bring bug spray, sunscreen, medications, water bottle and snacks as well as anything else they need for five-hour cleanup. Those attending should also bring their own reusable water bottle.
At 8:45 a.m. a safety talk will be given to all participants. Those paddling the creek will carpool to the starting point by Tractor Supply Company. People who will do on-land cleanup will be sent to various areas to pick up trash. Everyone is to return to Front Street no later than 1 p.m. where they will need to sign-out with the organizers.
