Clawson to seek GOP nomination for commissioner

Troy Clawson

Troy Clawson has announced his candidacy for county commissioner on the Republican ticket.

Clawson currently serves on Youngsville Borough’s council and is the president/CEO of The TMC Tax Experience, LLC, a tax and accounting business.

His desire to run is “about the responsibility and not the power involved in the position,” he said. “Warren County has so much potential for success.”

Clawson identified several issues or area of focus should he be elected – population decline, broadband access, tourism and tourism-related businesses and working with municipalities and first responders to address the EMS crisis.

He holds a B.S. in forensic accounting from Edinboro University and was also part of the Leadership Warren County class of 2015/2016.

And he highlighted his experience in local government, where he has served on the Youngsville Borough Council since Oct. 2013.

Since that time, he’s earned certification from the Pa. State Association of Boroughs as a certified elected official and is also the president of the local county boroughs association, in addition to participation in the Warren County Council of Governments.

“These organizations are all about collaboration with local elected officials,” he said.

In addition to borough council, he also serves on local boards including the Warren County Visitors Bureau, Youngsville Television Corporation, Warren County Industrial Development Authority, Allegheny Community Center as well as Pa. Chapter vice-president of the National Association of Tax Professionals.

Starting at $2.99/week.
