A Youngsville man was taken to Warren County jail Thursday on multiple felony charges including rape of a child.

Adam C. Burleigh, 23, of Youngsville, is charged with rape of a child; two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child; two counts of unlawful contact with a minor — sexual offenses; all felonies of the first degree; sexual assault, a second-degree felony; felony corruption of minors; misdemeanor corruption of minors; and two counts of indecent assault — person less than 13 years of age, also misdemeanors.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, possible sexual assaults from January and July 2022 against an 11-year-old girl were reported July 8, 2022.

The alleged victim reported being touched inappropriately by Burleigh in January and, in July, being grabbed by the arm, led into Burleigh’s room, and pushed onto the bed. She told a forensic interviewer that Burleigh had sex with her and that she told him to stop.

According to the affidavit, Burleigh also showed the alleged victim pornographic videos.

Burleigh was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Todd Woodin.

The maximum possible penalties related to the charges add up to over 100 years in prison and $150,000 in fines.

“Based on the nature and seriousness of the offenses, I’ve set bail at $100,000,” Woodin said.

Burleigh was taken to Warren County jail after failing to post bail.
