Photo submitted to the Times Observer Paul Pascuzzi is being honored with this year’s Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry Community Service Award.
Paul Pascuzzi is a busy man.
He is currently president of Clarendon Borough Council; president and safety officer for the Clarendon Fire Department, both of which he has served for over 40 years; chairman of the Warren County Planning Commission, Intergovernmental Co-op and Blighted Property Review Committee; treasurer of Warren/Forest Hi-Ed Council and the Struthers Library Theater Board of Directors; and a board member of the Warren County EMS Council, EMMCO West, Kinzua Warren County Joint Authority and the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center.
And that’s just his volunteer work.
“Warren County is the best place to live,” Pascuzzi said. “As an elected official, I feel that it’s my responsibility to improve the quality of life for everyone that lives here.”
He owns Pascuzzi Accounting and Tax Service. He was previously employed by OSRAM Sylvania for over 30 years and served as fiscal director for Warren County in 2015 and 2016.
All that hard work is being recognized. On Nov. 16, Pascuzzi will be awarded with the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry’s Community Service Award in a ceremony at the Conewango Club.
“The WCCBI Annual Dinner and Awards is the platform used to honor the community service award winner,” WCCBI Director of Chamber Operations John Papalia said. “We act as the organization that facilitates the process. We collect nominations for the committee and review who makes the selection. The committee is made up of past award recipients.”
The dinner will start at 5 p.m. with a social hour with dinner and award presentations to follow. Tickets are $50 per person or $400 for a table of ten. Reservations can be made by calling 814-723-3050 or emailing szimmerman@wccbi.org.
“I am honored to receive this year’s community service award,” Pascuzzi said. “I would like to thank Commissioner (Ben) Kafferlin for my nomination, and the previous award recipients who voted for me.”
“I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the immense impact that Paul has made on our community,” Kafferlin said in his letter nominating Pascuzzi for the award. “Beyond his professional and community engagements, Paul is a dedicated family man, blessed with a loving wife, three children, and three grandchildren. This, I believe, adds another dimension to his character – that of a devoted family man.”
Pascuzzi has spent a lifetime devoting himself to serving his community.
“I was introduced to community involvement by my father-in-law, Leonard Falbriski, and supported by my wife, Patty,” he recalled. “In 1980, Len, Clarendon Fire Department chief, encouraged me to become a volunteer firefighter and guided me to run for a seat on borough council. I think it is rather appropriate that I will be receiving this award on Nov. 16, which is Len’s birthday.
“Given his unmatched contributions, dedication, and relentless service to Warren County, I genuinely believe that there is no one more deserving of the community service award than Paul Pascuzzi,” Kafferlin said.
