Sheffield Township stream deemed impaired
A stream in Sheffield Township has been deemed impaired by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Minister Creek has been deemed impaired due to E. Coli found in water samples. The assessment stems from March.
The finding was released in DEP’s 2024 draft integrated water quality report. The last report was issued in 2022.
Minister Creek had not been previously assessed.
The assessment lists agriculture, urban runoff, wastewater and waterfowl as possible sources of the E. Coli.
