Struthers Library Theatre Academy hits the stage with Frozen JR.
Shows are set for tonight at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Struthers Library Theatre.
The show is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, telling the story of Elsa and Anna in the land of Arendelle while including the songs from the animated film, in addition to five new songs written for Broadway.
“Being the lead has been both incredibly challenging and rewarding,” Macy Winicki, who will play Anna, said. “The endless memorizing of lines and cues has been far more than I’ve had for previous shows, but it has been a wonderful opportunity to present this character to the world.
“The people involved are incredibly talented and hardworking and it shows in the heart of the show.”
According to a statement from the Theatre, “Frozen JR.” is “a story of true love and acceptance between sisters. Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa.
When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.”
“This show has been a blast already, and I’m even more excited to meet the audience as a princess,” Caroline Smyth, who plays Elsa, said. “The cast is so talented that it’s easy to trust the performance to make magic on stage.”
TIckets are are available at the box office prior to the show and online at strutherslibrarytheatre.org.
