There’s a changing of the guard at the Warren Salvation Army.

Captains Angelica and Gene Spence, currently serving in Salem, Ohio, will be transitioning to Warren while the current leaders – Majors Shane and Dorothy Budd – will be assuming a leadership role in Beaver Falls, Pa.

“While we were only in Warren for a short time, this community will always have a special place in our hearts,” Major Dorothy Budd said. “We will miss the welcoming and supportive group we have come to love. It is our honor to continue our journey and mission of serving others in our new roles. We cannot wait to get started!”

The Budds will start their work in Beaver Falls on June 26, which will also include the role of county coordinator, bringing them in touch with residents in communities including Beaver Falls as well as Aliquippa and Rochester.

According to a statement from the Salvation Army, the appointments are part of the Salvation Army’s “annual national and divisional officer reassignments.”

The organization highlights that the Budds developed weekly programming in Warren for youth and adults including Bible studies, supper club, scouting programs and archery.

“Majors Budd will play an integral role in the success of The Salvation Army’s local support services and programs that include a robust music education program for youth,” the statement explains.

Starting at $2.99/week.
