May drug raid lands Sugar Grove man in prison
A Sugar Grove man who was among nine charged by the Warren County Drug Task Force earlier this year will spend time in state prison.
Donald S. Seither, 36, was sentenced Friday by Judge Maureen Skerda to 22 to 48 months in a state correctional institution, with credit for 184 days served, and a $2,000 fine as well as other court costs for his guilty plea to the felony charge of possession with intent to deliver. Seither also pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal use of a communication facility, also a felony, and was sentenced to 3 to 6 months in state prison to run consecutively. Seither is eligible for the Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive (RRRI) program if he completes recommended programs and shows good behavior.
The warrant was served in the Sugar Grove area in May, with a second warrant executed in the City of Warren in the wake of that search. A cache of weapons were among items seized at the Sugar Grove site.
“During the operation we seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana as well as paraphernalia indicative of sales,” Warren County Chief County Detective Tom Kibbey told the Times Observer in May.
A second charge of possession with intent to deliver, a second charge of criminal use of a communication facility, and charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia against Seither were not prosecuted.
