Pittsfield man’s behavior results in bail hike
A Pittsfield man arrested during a domestic incident Saturday quickly saw his bail increase by $60,000 after walking out of court.
Casey M. Skinner, 23, of Pittsfield was charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and harassment on Friday by State Police at Warren for an incident in Pittsfield. During an appearance before Judge Raymond Zydonik on Saturday morning, Skinner’s bail was originally set at $15,000 unsecured. But, according to a notation on the criminal docket, bail was increased to $75,000 cash after Skinner allegedly refused to answer questions at his bail hearing and walked out of court. The judge then considered Skinner a flight risk and increased bail.
Skinner was taken to the county jail after he was unable to post bail. Skinner is due back in court Nov. 26 for a preliminary hearing – again in front of Zydonik.
State Police responded to a Route 6 home in Pittsfield at 7:31 p.m. Friday for a domestic dispute between Skinner and a woman. During the dispute, Skinner allegedly pinned the woman against a counter top and threatened her.
“During the dispute, (the woman) related Skinner grabbed her by the jacket and head and pinned her against the kitchen counter top,” the affidavit of probable cause states. “(The woman) related at this time Skinner stated, ‘I’m going to kill you and your family.’ (The woman) related she was in fear for her life during the incident.”
