A Warren woman faces several theft charges after allegedly stealing packages from at least three Warren homes on Dec. 11.
Christa Sudul, 29, of Warren was taken to the Warren County Jail Dec. 16 after she was unable to post $25,000 bail.
On Dec. 16, Sudul was charged with theft by unlawful taking – movable property and receiving stolen property after a man called Warren police saying he had video footage of a person who took a wood burning kit he had ordered from Amazon from his front porch. The kit was valued at $76.
“On December 13, 2024, after the surveillance video had been posted to the City of Warren Police Department Facebook page, I received information that the female in the video was Christa Marie Sudul …” the affidavit of probable cause states. “The information received was that the caller just saw the defendant and that she is wearing the same clothes from the video, carrying the same purple backpack.”
Officers allegedly saw Sudul walking on Conewango Avenue on Dec. 16, and after Sudul was given her Miranda warnings, allegedly admitted to the theft.
“The defendant advised that she had ‘identity issues’ and felt ‘entitled’ to take the package,” the affidavit states.
That led to investigations into more missing packages.
