Lowe’s, Toy Shoppe team up to bring more joy this holiday season
Through volunteer efforts and generous donations, Lowe’s associates have helped bring extra joy to the community, especially during the busy Christmas season. Lowe’s commitment to giving back goes beyond just donations. Each year, Lowe’s associates take advantage of the company’s volunteer program, which allows them to give up to 8 hours of paid time to volunteer in their communities. This year, many employees have dedicated their time to the Toy Shoppe, sharing their experiences of joy and fulfillment as they painted the wooden toys that will bring smiles to children during the holidays.
“We enjoy this every year, we love to give back in this way,” said Lowe’s associate and volunteer Toni Anderson.
Lowe’s has also donated essential materials to help the Toy Shoppe’s efforts run smoothly. These contributions include Valspar paint, wood for toy construction, storage containers, a cart for easier handling, and a Kobalt planer to help shape and refine the toys. These supplies allow the Toy Shoppe to stay on track as they prepare for the Christmas rush and ensure the toys are ready for distribution in time.
The collaboration between Lowe’s and Toy Shoppe, facilitated by the active participation of Lowe’s volunteers, has been instrumental in helping the nonprofit stay organized and meet the high demand for toys in the lead-up to the holidays. In addition to the donated materials, Lowe’s volunteers actively paint and prepare the toys, ensuring they’re ready to bring happiness to children who may otherwise not receive gifts.
Lowe’s support extends beyond just providing supplies. By allowing employees to volunteer during work hours, the company fosters a culture of community involvement and service. For employees, it’s an opportunity to give back tangibly, while for the Toy Shoppe, it’s an essential boost to their operations during one of their busiest times of the year.
