Russell man jailed after domestic incident
MEAD – A Russell man faces a felony charge after a domestic incident Sunday in Mead Township.
Shawn T. Moore, 35, of Russell was charged with strangulation – applying pressure to throat or neck, a class 2 felony; two counts of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of simple assault and two counts of harassment – subjecting another to physical contact on Sunday.
Moore was taken to the Warren County Jail on Monday after being unable to post $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing will be held Dec. 31.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by the State Police at Warren, Moore went to a woman’s house uninvited. While she didn’t mind at first, she told Moore he needed to leave because their child was sleeping. The woman then accused him of sabotaging her vehicle. The two began arguing and Moore allegedly began kicking the door to the bedroom and threatened to kick a dog in the home.
The woman told police that while she and Moore were yelling at each other Moore allegedly grabbed her and shoved her to the ground. The woman turned onto her stomach and Moore allegedly stood on her back, making it so she couldn’t breathe. The couple’s child then tried to intervene, with Moore allegedly shoving a youth to the ground as well. Both the woman and the youth were injured in the incident.
“Victim #1 related she expressed that she was calling the police, to which the defendant related to Victim #1 that he would kill them if they filed charges on him.”
Moore was charged earlier this year in Warren with flight to avoid apprehension and disorderly conduct from an incident that occurred on Aug. 15 in the City of Warren. He pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge while the charge of flight to avoid apprehension was withdrawn.
