Lineup for Warren County Winterfest set

Official Winterfest Website Photos Photos are from past Winterfest events.

It’s looking like a traditional winter here in Warren County – and many traditional events will remain part of this year’s Winterfest.

“The Salvation Army Polar Plunge is the highlight of the day. That’s been an annual tradition for well over 20 years,” said Savannah Casey of WCCBI. “Winterfest, the festival side of the event, has been an event in the county for at least 30 years. The Lobdell Memorial Sled Dog Races, which were in conjunction with Winterfest, are well over 40 years old. “

Some of the events include an organized mountain bike ride, snowshoeing demonstration, trivia quest, nature education activities, winter birding, make your own bird feeder, ice fishing demonstration, and an event which is new this year: a fishing tournament.

The Warren YMCA will be hosting family-friendly games and activities during the event. Those who want to participate do not need to pre-register for any of the Winterfest events, with the only exception being for the Polar Bear Plunge since it is a fundraising effort. Registration sheets for the cardboard sled dog races, sledding races and kayak races will be made available at the event.

Winterfest is free to attend. There are fees for the carriage rides by Double C Ranch. There will be food and drinks available for purchase during the event.
