Sheffield drug bust results in guilty plea
A Kane man has pleaded guilty to two felony charges lodged against him after an August drug raid in Sheffield Township.
David A. Wolfe, 29, was charged Aug. 8 with two counts of possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communications facility, possession of an instrument of crime, possession/sale/use of display documents, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegally operating a vehicle without ignition interlock and possession of marijuana.
He pleaded guilty in the Court of Common Pleas in front of Judge Maureen A. Skerda to criminal use of a communication facility, a class 3 felony; and manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, a felony. The rest of the charges were not prosecuted.
Chief County Detective Tom Kibbey told the Times Observer on Tuesday the incident occurred on Aug. 7 around 10 p.m. in Sheffield Township.
“Wolfe communicated with an officer with the task force working in an undercover capacity and agreed to sell crack cocaine and heroin to the officer,” Kibbey said.
Investigators then allegedly met Wolfe, who was placed under arrest by Task Force members who were assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police after he arrived on scene.
“Wolfe was found to be in possession of approximately 11 grams of suspected fentanyl and approximately two grams of crack cocaine,” Kibbey said. “He was also found to have digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
Wolfe has been in the Warren County Prison since then, according to online court records after he was unable to post $50,000 bail.
