Warren man charged with child rape

A Warren man has been jailed on $100,000 bail after being charged Friday with raping a child.

David S. Gonzalez, 31, was charged with two counts of rape of a child, a class 1 felony, two counts of statutory sexual assault: 8-11 years older, a class 2 felony; two counts of sexual assault, a class 2 felony; two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, a class 1 felony; two counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent, a class 2 felony; two counts of aggravated indecent assault – person less than 13 years old, a class 2 felony; two counts of indecent assault involving a person less than 13 years of age, a class 3 felony; two counts of unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, a class 1 felony; three counts of corruption of minors – defendant age 18 or above, a class 3 felony; indecent exposure, a class 1 misdemeanor, and marijuana possession – small amount personal use after an investigation by the State Police at Warren.

Gonzalez was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik on Saturday and bail set at $100,000.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by the State Police, the Warren Child Advocacy Center scheduled an interview on Friday for a 9-year-old girl who disclosed several incidents that allegedly occurred between Jan. 1, 2024, and Jan. 23, 2025. The girl said the incidents happened at home. An arrest warrant was issued based on the girl’s testimony.

“Officers made contact with the defendant and placed him under arrest at which time he was searched incident to arrest and found to be in possession of a clear baggie containing a small amount of marijuana,” the affidavit states.
