Warren senior named emerging leader nominee

Adam Strandburg

Adam Strandburg, a Warren Area High School senior, has been named the C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader nominee for January 2025.

The recognition, facilitated by IU5 and its sponsors, highlights students who excel in academics, leadership and community involvement. As part of his nomination, Adam is eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship and could earn an additional $5,000 at the end of the year.

Adam’s nomination reflects his dedication and achievements in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service. Known as a leader among his peers, Adam has consistently demonstrated the qualities that make him a deserving candidate for this honor.

“Adam has proven through his academic and extracurricular endeavors that he is worthy of being a C.L.A.S.S. Act Nominee,” said a WAHS spokesperson.

Adam has excelled in his academic pursuits, maintaining an impressive GPA while tackling a rigorous course load that includes every advanced science and math class offered at WAHS. Adam’s leadership extends beyond the classroom into a wide array of extracurricular activities. He is an active member of the Key Club, varsity football team, the Flannel Panel and varsity tennis team.

Strandburg is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, volunteers at hospice, the soup kitchen and with the Special Olympics.In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and crafting. One of his favorite personal projects was forging and welding a fire poker from rebar.

“Adam combines academic success with a deep-seated sense of social responsibility,” said a school representative. “He is a model student and a true leader, both in and out of the classroom.”
