Alleged hotel assault lands city man in jail
A Warren man has been jailed after an alleged assault at a Warren hotel on Feb. 18.
Nicholas Alexander Lizak, 28, of Warren, was charged after Warren City Police responded to a report of an alleged assault at the Quality Inn, 204 Struthers St. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the victim reported that Lizak had “challenged him to a fight.” Lizak allegedly kicked the other person twice, scratched him, and brandished a knife before the person was able to escape and call the police.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Lizak, who matched the description provided by the victim. According to the affidavit, Lizak had a red utility knife in his front pocket and “had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages… freely admitted he was drunk.”
Lizak was charged with aggravated assault–attempting to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and public drunkenness.
Preliminary arraignment was held by Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik, who set bail at $50,000. Lizak was unable to post bail and was taken to the Warren County Jail.
