Jamestown Jackals take part in Youngsville S.O.A.R. Assembly
The Jackals, who compete in the Basketball Super League, spoke to students about integrity, teamwork and perseverance–values that shape both their game and their daily lives.
After delivering their message, the players demonstrated basketball skills and invited students to join in hoop-shooting and ball-handling relays. The gymnasium buzzed with excitement as students took turns dribbling and shooting alongside the pros.
“I liked the assembly a lot because they had great speeches,” said Elizabeth Benjamin, a Youngsville student. “I liked how they included students in the activities and brought everyone together.”
Fellow student Aubrey Leofsky agreed.
“I loved the energy of the assembly and how it pumped everyone up,” she said.
The S.O.A.R. Assembly–which stands for Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful–is a regular event at Youngsville Elementary that encourages positive behavior and personal growth.
