Military food bank distribution scheduled for February 28th

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will host its next Warren County Military Share food distribution on Friday at 2 p.m.

The program supports income-qualifying active and retired military personnel and their immediate families who need food assistance. The distribution event will occur across from the Ed Shults dealership at 4060 Market St.

Military Share distributions occur on the fourth Friday of even-numbered months, ensuring regular access to food resources for military families in the community.

In northwest Pennsylvania, nearly 18% of households receiving food assistance have at least one member who has served in the military. Second Harvest’s Military Share program addresses food insecurity among service members and veterans.

Military Share is funded exclusively by donations. While requests to include specific items in a distribution may impact the cost, sponsorships are available. To learn how you or your organization can sponsor a Military Share distribution contact Gerry Weiss, program manager, at gweiss@nwpafoodbank.org or by phone at 814-459-3663 ext. 120.

Eligible participants are encouraged to arrive on time to receive their food supplies.

Individuals can contact the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania for more information on qualification requirements or future distributions.

Starting at $2.99/week.
