Additional felony charges filed in 2024 camp burglaries

Two men already facing felony charges for a series of camp break-ins have had additional felony charges placed against this week.

Wesley Crispin, 26, of Warren and Kyle Lauritson, 32, of Warren were both charged with first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; third-degree felony criminal trespassing – entering a structure; second-degree felony theft by unlawful taking – movable property; second-degree felony receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime with intent and loitering and prowling at night time on Tuesday by State Police at Warren for a burglary in Pleasant Township on June 1, 2024.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the break-in was discovered by a Nashville, Tenn., resident who hadn’t been to his camp between June 1, 2024 and Nov. 20, 2024.

“The camp is mostly used for storage and most things are in boxes,” the affidavit states. “Upon coming to the camp on Nov. 20, 2024, he could see that the front door had been pried open. Every room had been gone through and holes were cut in boxes and it appeared that was done so the individuals could look at what was in each box. The main electric panel was shut off and the only item that he could remember that was now missing was a black pellet rifle which was in an unlocked gun safe.”

The affidavit states Crispin admitted to breaking into the cabin during an interview with police after Crispin had been arrested for the previous charges.

Lauritson already faces 20 felony charges filed by the State Police at Warren. As of Jan. 30, 2025, Lauritson is in the Erie County Prison as he faces several charges there, according to court dockets available online.

A fourth Nov. 12 burglary resulted in charges of first-degree first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; felony conspiracy – burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; two counts of third-degree felony criminal trespassing – entering structure, third-degree felony receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking – movable property, criminal mischief – damaging property and receiving stolen property. A fifth burglary on Nov. 12 resulted in charges of first-degree first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; second-degree felony criminal trespassing – breaking into structure, third-degree felony criminal trespass – entering a structure; theft by unlawful taking – movable property, criminal mischief – damaging property, and receiving stolen property.

A Nov. 15 burglary resulted in charges of first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; felony conspiracy – burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; third-degree felony criminal trespass – entering a structure, criminal mischief – damaging property, and receiving stolen property.

Crispin, meanwhile, has been charged with An alleged Nov. 12 burglary that resulted in charges of burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespass, a class 2 felony, criminal trespassing, a class 3 felony; theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property. A second Nov. 12 burglary resulted in charges of burglary, a class 1 felony; two counts of criminal trespass, both class 3 felonies, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, a class 3 felony; theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief. A third burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 12 resulted in charges of burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespass, a class 2 felony; theft by unlawful taking, a class 2 felony; receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief – graffiti. Crispin was charged in a fourth Nov. 12 burglary with burglary, criminal trespass, a class 2 felony, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief. A fifth Nov. 12 burglary resulted in charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief. Crispin was also charged in a sixth burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 15. Those charges are burglary, a class 1 felony; conspiracy to commit burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespassing, a class 3 felony, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief for a burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 15.

Crispin is currently in the Warren County Jail on $25,000 unsecured bail. Lauritson is still in the Crawford County Prison, though bail was reduced from $25,000 to $15,000 on Feb. 5, 2025.
