A touch of Hollywood is making its way to downtown Warren as Krista Jee, a hair and makeup artist with experience in major fashion and entertainment industries, has opened a new beauty boutique at 112 Pennsylvania Ave. W.

The Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry, joined by state Rep. Kathy Rapp, R-Warren, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of Krista Jee Hair and Makeup. The boutique is located next to CVS.

Born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Warren, Jee’s passion for hair and makeup started at an early age. Frustrated by the lack of beauty products suited to her skin tone and hair type, she experimented with mixing her own solutions, sparking a lifelong fascination with the industry.

Her journey into the beauty world began with an internship at Blair Corporation during high school. Determined to break into the industry, she pursued professional training at Empire Beauty School in Pittsburgh, graduating in 2007. There, she learned from an industry makeup artist who had previously worked in New York City.

Jee’s dedication and persistence led her to work in various salons, mastering her craft before making a move to Los Angeles. A chance encounter with a Hollywood director of photography opened doors, leading her to work on film sets and music videos. She quickly built a name for herself, working with major names in entertainment and fashion.

Despite her success in Los Angeles, Jee longed to return home and share her talent with the Warren community.

In addition to her salon services, Jee is the creator and artist behind Healing Beauty Skincare, Makeup and Hair Line. Her mission extends beyond aesthetics–Jee said she believes in the transformative power of beauty and how it can boost confidence and uplift spirits.

“I feel that hair and makeup are a serious component of someone’s confidence,” Jee said. “It can pick up your spirit when you’re not feeling your best self. The person in your chair is unique, and we’re all going through something. It’s an honor to do what I do for a living, and I absolutely love it.”

Jee’s boutique will offer a range of high-quality hair, skincare, and makeup services, along with a curated selection of beauty products designed to cater to diverse needs.

In addition to offering her services, Jee has spent the past two years developing her own line of professional-grade, all-natural, plant-based skincare, makeup, and hair products. She is committed to non-toxic ingredients that cater to all skin and hair types, ensuring the best results for her clients.

“I do waxing services, I do hair, and I do a lot of makeup” Jee said ” I have my own product lines. I go from skincare to makeup to hair care. And it’s all natural. It’s all vegan-free. It’s all cruelty-free.”
