Warren Area Elementary Center recently hosted the America250PA Keystone Classroom Initiative, an educational program designed to engage students with Pennsylvania’s rich history in anticipation of the United States’ 250th anniversary next year. The event was marked by interactive presentations and activities that deepened students’ appreciation for the state’s pivotal role in the nation’s founding.

A highlight of the day was a visit from a historical reenactor portraying William Penn, who brought the state’s history to life and shared his vision for Pennsylvania. Additionally, America250PA’s mascot, the Keystone Kid, distributed swag bags to the students, adding an element of fun to the educational experience.

The event was made possible through the collaboration and support of various community members and organizations, including: State Rep. Kathy Rapp, state Sen. Scott Hutchinson’s office, Court of Common Pleas of Warren and Forest Counties, Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry, Warren County Visitors Bureau, Warren County Historical Society, Warren Forest Higher Education Council, Historic Philadelphia

The success of the initiative was further bolstered by the dedication of local volunteers, teachers, and the enthusiastic participation of the students. Reflecting on the day’s events, organizers expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement and emphasized the importance of such educational programs in fostering a deeper understanding of Pennsylvania’s heritage.

Starting at $2.99/week.
