Emanuel United Church of Christ has appointed the Rev. Melissa McLean as its new pastor.
McLean was ordained into the United Church of Christ on March 16, 2025, through the Clarion Association of the Penn West Conference. She holds a Master of Divinity from the Chicago Theological Seminary and a Master of Education from Elmira College. In addition to her pastoral role, she serves as the executive director of the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center.
McLean said she felt called to ministry after many years of working in education and community service. Her ministry is centered on nurturing faith, encouraging service and fostering meaningful connections within the church community.
As a lifelong member of Emanuel UCC, McLean said she is deeply rooted in the church’s mission of love, compassion, and outreach.
McLean lives in Warren with her husband James, their teenage son, and their two dogs.
