Interactive Festival comes to Warren May 3

Photos submitted to the Times Observer The Kalkbrenner Brothers will be bringing memorabilia from both the Vietnam and Second World War to the Interactive Festival.

The 2025 Interactive Festival – and free comic books, too – will come to downtown Warren on Saturday, May 3.

The festival takes place on Second Avenue between Liberty Street and the fountain with more than 20 booths of hands-on activities. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In observance of National Free Comic Book Day, 1,000 comic books will also be given away. The festival is free and for all ages.

Activities include Montante Sword Fighting instruction, wood yo-yo decorating with the Toy Shoppe, World War II and Vietnam memorabilia, building blocks at the Creativity Center, math games and science experiments, a magic show, constructing and playing musical instruments, basket giveaways, food and desserts. New activities this year include bingo, slime making, a reading of Dr. Seuss’ Bartholomew and the Ooblek and the opportunity to make some ooblek, testing tree knowledge with the state Department of Forestry and making play dough.

Those attending will also be able to take part in catch and release ducks in the Fountain Carnival games. The Warren Children’s Choir performs at 10:30 a.m.

In celebration of National Free Comic Book Day, Kids Town Books in Warren Antiques, 306 Second Ave., is giving out 1,000 free comic books on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Interactive Festival 2025 is presented by Free Books for Kids Town. For more information, visit Facebook.com/FreeBooksForKidsTown. To volunteer, contact Ruby Wiles at KidsBooks4Free@gmail.com.
