UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Extension will offer “Woodland Stewardship: Guided Engagement with Your Land,” an online course designed to teach participants about forests and how to take care of them. In Pennsylvania, private forest landowners own 11.5 million acres, almost 70% of the forests. Republican Senator Jarrett Coleman is the prime sponsor of a proposal that would make stop signs and red lights function as yields for all Pennsylvania cyclists. Former Sheffield man sentenced to additional prison time

A former Sheffield resident will serve additional prison time after violating terms of his post-release supervision under the state’s sex offender registration laws. John R. Castor, 36, has been sentenced to an additional eight months to two years in state prison after pleading guilty in June to one count of third-degree felony failure to verify address/be photographed. Castor was sentenced recently by President Judge Gregory Hammond in the Court of Common Pleas.
