Ned Chase

Ned Eugene Chase, 86, of the Rouse Home, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, May 14, 2015, with family surrounded by his side.

Ned was born January 31, 1929 in Youngsville, Pa., a son to the late Guy and Mabel (Johnson) Chase. Ned attended school in Youngsville and went on to serve as a mechanic in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked at Perish Battery, owned and operated Ned’s Garage, owned and operated Ned Chase Appliance, CoOwned and worked at C & C Oil Wells and worked as a mechanic at Bob Williams Lumber.

Ned enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his brother, who was his best friend, he will surely be missed. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Patty) Chase of Garland; five daughters, Shelly (John) Terrasi of Pittsfield, Sherri Williams of Tulsa, OK, Bonnie (Gary) Fenstermaker of Snowflake, AZ, Brenda (Bradley) Johnson of Corry and Kristin (Brian) Donahue of Michigan; twelve grandchildren, John (Jacque) Terrasi III, Joseph Terrasi, Sammy Williams, Jeffrey (Amy) Williams, Joshua (Mandy) Chase, Shellen Johnson, Shannon (Pete) Schroeder, Gary (Kassandra) Fenstermaker, Danielle (Casey) Long, Ashley Johnson, Amber Johnson, Chelsey Jackson and twentythree greatgrandchildren. Ned is also survived by, two sisters, Sue Ludwick of Chester, Pa. and Rae Lindell of the Rouse Suites; one brother, Alton (Gladys) Chase of Sugar Grove and one sisterinlaw, Peggy (Charles) Chase of Warren.

In addition to his parents, Ned is preceded in death by three brothers, Guy Chase, Oscar Chase and Charles Chase; and three sisters, Dorothy Slocum, Anabelle Anthony and Idabelle Swanson.

Friends and family will be received on Monday evening, May 18, from 6:008:00 pm at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple Street, Pittsfield, Pa. 16340. A memorial service will be held there on Tuesday, May 19 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Steve Gruver, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Youngsville Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Warren County, PO Box 68, Warren, Pa. 16365, the Rouse Home, 701 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville, Pa. 16371, the Otterbein United Methodist Church, or to the charity of one’s choice.

The family wishes to give special thanks to all the caregivers at the Rouse Home who took the extra time, gave the extra care and loved our dad. A special thank you to Hospice for the super care you gave our dad, even if it was for a short time.
